DJ Patrick (Triton – Freshman)
Patrick shot the lights out the gym in this game. The 6’7” wing from Atlanta got it going with two corner three pointers which opened the game up after a sloppy start from both teams. DJ did a good job at finding open spots on the court and made Morton pay for not locating him. Patrick shot 7-11 from three. He’s shot maker but not a one trick pony. A couple plays DJ made slice cuts to the rim for easier buckets. Any schools looking for a light out shooter Patrick is a qualifier with 3 years left to play. DJ finished with 31 points.
Kejuan Clements (Triton – Sophomore)
Kejuan started off with two long shots that hit the front of the rim. After those two misses he got to the rim often and was very efficient. Clements has improved his court intellect a lot since his days at Chicago Simeon. His strong upper body helps him get in the lane and makes plays for himself and teammates. Kejuan would later make a couple of threes when the game started to break open. Clements has made himself a prospect for D1 or D2 schools. Clements finished 17 points.
Morgan Taylor (Triton – Sophomore)
Morgan started out struggling but made it work as he became a facilitator for Triton. Taylor who is a D1 transfer plays hard and makes adjustments if things aren’t working on the court. Morgan didn’t make many shots but he did get to the free throw line a couple of times. Taylor finished with 9 points and led the game with 7 assists.
Latik Murphy (Morton – Sophomore)
Latik is another former Illinois high school player who attended Morton High School. He would be the only bright spot for Morton in this game as he went 3-6 from three and got a couple of steals that led to layups. Murphy who holds division 1 offers is a scoring wing who just could not get the help from teammates against Triton.
Isiah Burd (Morton – Sophomore)
Burd started the game off with a three and was very good at slowing down Triton in the early stages of the game. Isiah is a bigger guard with the tools to get to the rim. He didn’t have his best game as he went 1-7. Seeing him play I can tell it was just an off night and am looking forward to see him bounce back after this performance.
