Today we speak with Glenbard North wing JJ Hernandez. He is the cousin of recent D1 prospect Jeremiah Hernandez. We saw him at the HIT Scrimmage this fall and can see a lot of similarities at the same stage. Plus size at 6’4” with a projectable frame to continue to grow and fill out. He is a silky smooth ball handler that can win off the bounce. Flashes passing flair. Gets on the glass for put backs and is a solid defender. Here is our Intro 2024: JJ Hernandez!
How would you best describe your game at this stage?
I describe my game as a shooting guard able to play any position on the floor when needed and is able to score at all times.
What is your current height and weight?
6’4” 175 lbs
Is there a recent player from Illinois that you pattern your game after?
From Illinois I’ve watched DJ Steward DJ Steward 6'2" | PG Whitney Young | 2020 State #22 Nation IL since he has at Whitney Young and enjoy watching him comparing my game to someone from the area at Duke.
What have you been doing during this time without a high school season to work on your game before the season started?
I’ve been in the gym everyday putting on weight and getting shots up after school since the pandemic and now that there’s no season I will continue to work and play in any open gyms that I’m invited to.
Has there been any early college recruitment?
Colleges have not come to me yet, but hoping they do soon.
