It’s not a guarantee that we’ll find each of these players guarding each other during the games, but we’ll take a look at some of the top players we could see going head to head.
Ezra Stargell Ezra Stargell 6'1" | PG Kenosha Indian Trail | 2021 State WI vs Brian Parzych Brian Parzych 6'2" | PG Wauwautosa East | 2021 State WI (Kenosha Indian Trail vs Wauwatosa East)- Brian Parzych Brian Parzych 6'2" | PG Wauwautosa East | 2021 State WI is one of those players who just makes winning plays. He’s Wauwatosa East’s leading scorer and assister, and is a pest on the defensive end. Parzych is a tough as nails guard who is almost guaranteed to draw one or two charges every game, and has proven that he can also take over scoring the ball with his 30 point game against Menomonee Falls. Ezra Stargell Ezra Stargell 6'1" | PG Kenosha Indian Trail | 2021 State WI has gone a bit under the radar this season due to his teams delayed start, but he’s an electrifying floor general. He’s lightning quick with a flashy handle, and is one of the best passers in the state. When looking to score his range extends well beyond the arc, and he’s improved his ability to get to the rim and finish.
Antuan Nesbitt Antuan Nesbitt 6'4" | SF Racine | 2021 State WI vs Adam Larson Adam Larson 6'9" | PF Fennimore | 2021 State WI (The Prairie School vs Fennimore)- Both of these players just do so much for their respective teams in Division 4. Antuan leads his team in scoring (19.3 ppg), rebounds (6.9 rpg), and assists (4.7 apg), while Adam Larson Adam Larson 6'9" | PF Fennimore | 2021 State WI has been a walking double-double putting up 24 points and 10 boards a contest. Antuan is the smaller but quicker player in this one, and he’s one of the most efficient scorers in the state with his ability to score at all three levels. He’s also capable of handling the ball for his team and setting up his teammates with his passing vision. Adam Larson Adam Larson 6'9" | PF Fennimore | 2021 State WI has the size advantage here, as an athletic 6’9 forward who can finish above the rim or stretch the floor with his shooting. You don’t find many 6’9 players with his combination of length, mobility, outside shot, and ability to protect the rim.
Milan Momcilovic Milan Momcilovic 6'8" | SF Pewaukee | 2023 State #44 Nation WI vs John Lovelace John Lovelace 6'4" | SF Brown Deer | 2021 State WI (Pewaukee vs Brown Deer)- Milan Momcilovic Milan Momcilovic 6'8" | SF Pewaukee | 2023 State #44 Nation WI is one of the premier 2023 forwards in the midwest, while John Lovelace John Lovelace 6'4" | SF Brown Deer | 2021 State WI ’s return in the playoffs has proven to be the spark Brown Deer needed to make a push at state. At 6’8 Milan has an advanced skillset with his ability to shoot the ball at a high rate from three, post up smaller players, and score over the top of length with his turnaround jumper. He plays with the poise of an upperclassmen, and leads his team in scoring at 17 a game. John Lovelace John Lovelace 6'4" | SF Brown Deer | 2021 State WI is a long and athletic wing with above the rim scoring ability. His combination of length and athleticism make him very versatile on the defensive end, and offensively he can get to the rim or hit the open jumper from beyond the arc. He’s scored 17 and 20 in his two games this season.
Mason Dorn Mason Dorn 6'1" | SG Seymour | 2021 State WI vs Marcus Tomashek Marcus Tomashek 6'3" | SG Ashwaubenon | 2022 State WI (Seymour vs Ashwaubenon)- A matchup of two big time scoring guards here. Mason Dorn Mason Dorn 6'1" | SG Seymour | 2021 State WI is among the state’s leaders with 28 ppg, and can take over a game in a hurry. He has deep range and is a threat running off screens for catch-and-shoot threes, while he also has the athleticism to get to the rim and finish in traffic. Marcus Tomashek Marcus Tomashek 6'3" | SG Ashwaubenon | 2022 State WI is a long and versatile guard who is starting to emerge as a scholarship prospect. He’s a high IQ player who makes smart reads with the ball, and can control the tempo of the game. Marcus is a three-level scorer whose mix of length and skill make him a mismatch nightmare.
Brandin Podziemski Brandin Podziemski 6'6" | SG Saint John's Northwestern Academy | 2021 State #232 Nation WI vs Carter Lancaster Carter Lancaster 6'4" | SF Darlington | 2021 State WI (St. John’s NW Academies vs Darlington)- High level division three matchup here as the state’s most dangerous scorer takes on a physical two-way player. Podziemski simply produces no matter what teams throw at him. Even when constantly double-teamed, he finds ways to move without the ball to get clean looks. He’s a sniper from beyond the arc at around 6’5-6’6, and he seems to always come up with a handful of offensive rebounds and scrappy buckets at the rim each game. Lancaster is a D2 offered 6’4 wing who can do the dirty work inside or create for himself and teammates off the dribble. He’ll look to make things difficult for Podziemski in this one.
