Players from across the state have been showing off their skills and abilities all season, despite the adjustments and difficulties of this season, and lots of quality basketball has popped up all over the Gem state. As the state tournament draws closer and closer, teams are buckling down and making a final push to end their seasons on a high note. The beginning of March will not come soon enough to be able to witness some excellent displays of basketball. Continue reading for a look at some great games that were played recently as well as some players who had great performances.
Skyview vs. Eagle: In a 5A SIC battle, Eagle cruised to victory in a great performance in both the first and second half. Eagle led Skyview the entire game and continuously built their lead over the course of the game. Skyview attempted to use their crafty backdoor cut action to deceive the Mustangs, but Eagle was prepared and used offensive firepower to overcome the Skyview attack. Eagly simply overpowered Skyview throughout the night and the game was never relatively close. Skyview was led by Danny Graviet scoring 14 points and Eagle was led by Donovan Jones scoring 17 points and dishing out 8 assists as well as Isaac Deedon and Jason Janish scoring 13 points each.
Liberty Charter vs. Idaho City: Liberty Charter put the hurt on Idaho City as they easily coasted to victory over Idaho City. Liberty Charter played great defense and held Idaho City to only 22 points for the entire game. On the other hand, Liberty Charter also shot the ball well and used a balanced approach to score 53 points throughout the whole game. Idaho City struggled for the majority of the game and could never get anything going offensively. Liberty Charter was led by 15 points and 11 rebounds from Dallin Criddle as well as 12 points from McKinnon Dodge.
