Kaleb Moore Kaleb Moore 5'9" | PG Manton | 2021 State MI 5-9 2021 Manton Showing no rust whatsoever. Continues to carry on the small guard tradition in Manton. Nothing flashy but efficient in leading Manton to a 3-0 record in the first week. Very impressive in a opening night victory against Mancelona. Scored 24 points and dictated the tempo of the game all night. Simply doesn’t make mistakes in the pick and roll. Much better defensively as the Rangers are now employing full court pressure exclusively. Used quick hands to get a few steals.
Jayden Alfred Jayden Alfred 6'3" | SF Mancelona | 2021 State MI 6-4 2021 Mancelona Unfortunately officiating did not allow Alfred to get going against Manton. In his brief action showed off the next level athleticism with a big two handed dunk in transition. Also showed off a nice power dribble jump stop to convert in the half court. Hopefully gets a better whistle as the season goes on. Has some big late season matchups lined up with Oscoda, Charlevoix, and Glen Lake.
Joel Ewald Joel Ewald 5'10" | SG Roscommon | 2022 State MI 5-9 2022 Roscommon (pictured at top of article) Small guard has gotten to a quick start. Scored 16 points in a victory against Lake City. Excellent three point shooter who did most of his damage from behind the arc. Used the rare four point play to take the decisive lead in what was a back and forth game. Averaged 15 points for the week. Started week 2 strong. Roscommon is now 2-2 on the season
Trevin Winkle 6-4 2022 McBain Northern Michigan Christian I’m going to give an extra inch from my first listing. True inside out player who can play multiple positions. Plays the five out of necessity. But is good ball handler who frequently ran point for the Comets. I am most impressed with his defense. Is an excellent rim protector despite his size. Will give you two or three big blocks a game. Maintains good verticality and keeps the ball in play. NMC is off to a surprising 3-0 start with a new coach. One to keep an eye on in March as he could have a deep tournament run in Division 4.
Hunter Bisballe 6-0 2021 Lake City Scoring point guard who I have not covered yet for this site. Working off the rust from a broken hand during the football season. Aggressive penetrator and highly competitive. Scored 19 points in a loss to Roscommon. Not the tallest guard but is very physical and is not going to get pushed around. Has a chance to bounce back in a big way in the upcoming week with games against both Manton and McBain.
