Jordan-Phillip Long – Dracut High/ Mass Rivals – 6’2” – SG/SF – 2021 (pictured above)
Long is a forward who can get to the rim with ease using his wingspan and long strides when attacking. His athleticism is elite, and he is unstoppable going coast-to-coast. Long’s 6’2” frame allows him to see the floor, and he can shift gears and burst right past defenders and get easy buckets. When he runs downhill, attacking backpedaling defenders in transition, his body control and shiftiness are on full display as he glides to the basket. A terrific spot-up shooter who effortlessly hits threes over shot-contests but has the awareness to show a fake, blow by the defense, and get into the paint where he can show off his court vision when the help defense collapses on him. A reliable ball-handler, Long always has the ball on a string and does an excellent job taking care of the ball. Long is an athlete who plays at the perimeter but recognizes that he has the physical gifts to fight underneath for rebounds amongst the bigger forwards and centers.
Ryan Ouellette – Dighton Rehoboth/BCRI – 6’6” – SF – 2022
Ouellette is an absolute force when receiving the ball in the post. A wing who recognizes his size and strength advantage over most defenders and makes an effort to bury them on the block and play with his back to the basket. The junior forward can stretch the floor with accurate long-range shooting and can violently attack the rim using his muscle to move anyone in his path so he can finish at the rim. An efficient shooter, Ouelette’s 53% shooting from the field indicates his great shot selection and how frequently he works around the basket. Coming off a season averaging 15 points and 10 rebounds, he is a double-double machine who works hard to keep possessions alive on the offensive end while limiting the opponent to one-and-done possessions on defense. His size and athleticism make him an intimidating presence on defense as he is continuously patrolling the paint, altering shot attempts.
Tyler Victor – Brockton High – 6’7” – SF/PF – 2021
A tireless worker, Victor is always in the gym getting stronger and fine-tuning his game. A tremendous finisher when he gets around the rim; the combo forward is a handful when he gets a step on the defense. He absorbs contact and often draws fouls, showing the concentration and focus to still make the basket despite getting hit. Victor moves well off the ball and makes aggressive, timely cuts to the basket. His perimeter game is also solid showing an array of isolation moves to create separation leading to pull-up jumpers. A tenacious rebounder, especially on offense, Victor makes it look easy, and he is so physical that teams have difficulty boxing him out successfully and pushing him out the lane. His length and mobility make him a prime candidate to guard both wing positions and the post. His instincts and reaction time mixed with his vertical leap makes Victor extremely valuable for weak-side shot-blocking.
Jake Rymsza – Ashland High/ASA Select – 6’1” – SF – 2022
Rymsza is an athlete who is a gifted scorer who can get his own shot at will. His dribble pull-up game is lethal, and any shot 15 feet and in is automatic. Excellent at changing speeds in the halfcourt, and his use of jabs and hesitation moves lets Rymsza get into his sweet spots easily. Despite being a mid-range maestro, Rymsza can beat you beyond the three-point line, too. Always shooting with confidence, Rymsza is comfortable shooting threes well behind the line. A pesky defender off the ball, Rymsza makes it difficult for his opponent to catch the ball as he is aggressively passing in lanes forcing turnovers. The junior forward is excellent at closing out on jumpers and is a great tone-setter for Ashland on the defensive end. His high motor and nonstop energy on both sides of the ball helps him be an excellent two-way player.
Stephane Michel – Randolph High/HST Basketball – 5’11” – SG – 2021
One of the most dominant and physical on-ball defenders in Eastern Massachusetts, Michel puts the clamps on anyone he steps in front of on the court. It is fun to watch him accept the challenge of guarding any player no matter their talent level or size. The energy and maximum effort he brings when defending are unmatched, and he leaves it all out on the court. The combo wing will pick up the ball-handler full-court, show off his lateral quickness, and fights through every screen. A lightning rod in transition, Michel ignites the fastbreak with a turnover and is a blur getting to the basket. He rebounds the ball well for his height and is relentless battling for boards inside. A “three and d” specialist, Michel has the range to open up the floor from the outside for Randolph’s lane penetrators. Michel is a valuable asset to any team he plays on because he will do all the little things it takes to win a game.
