Patrick Warren 5’11 SW Livingston: The 2021 guard was on fire in the Wildcats’ victory over Tina-Avalon in the semifinals with a game-high 31 points. He really got things going early in the game as he knocked down all three of his 3-pointers in the first quarter. He was making them off the dribble and he used his athleticism to attack the basket for buckets and get out in the transition game.
Isaac Zahner 5’11” Northwestern (Mendon): The 2021 guard scored a team-high 24 points as the Eagles defeated Hale 60-48 in the semifinals. While both teams got off to a slow start offensively, he was the one player who got things going early as he scored his team’s first nine points. He did a good job of mixing in good dribble drives to the basket with the four 3-pointers that he made during the evening.
Wesley Hughes 6’0 SW Livingston: The 2021 guard scored 19 points in the victory over Tina-Avalon in the semifinals. He is an impressive athlete who was also a quarterback on the Wildcats’ state championship 8-man football team. He had his 3-point stroke working as he knocked down four on the evening. He also plays a nice overall floor game at both ends of the floor.
Jaeden Sears 6’3 Hale: The rugged 215-pound forward scored 10 points and grabbed a bushel of rebounds in the semifinals against Northwestern (Mendon). He was definitely a marked man on defense as Northwestern kept two or three bodies around him at all times during the game. He’s a strong post player in the paint who can also put the floor and score on tough takes to the basket.
Trent Grossman 6’0″ Tina-Avalon: The 2022 guard scored a game-high 26 points in the semifinals against SW Livingston. He displayed a smooth shooting stroke throughout the evening, especially on the baseline from 15 to 18 feet. He was automatic on those baseline jumpers and he mixed in a couple of nice finishes on drives to the basket.
Remington Woodcock 6’6 SW Livingston: A massive 2022 forward who came off the bench and had a big impact in the Wildcats’ victory over Tina-Avalon in the semifinals. He entered the game in the second quarter and had four points, three blocks and several rebounds in the quarter. He finished the game with 10 points. He used his size to seal defenders very well and he caught the ball well in traffic and had a soft touch around the basket.
Trey Stockwell 6’0″ Northwestern (Mendon): I was very impressed with the overall game of this 2023 wing player. He is a good athlete with good length and very fluid movements on the court. He is an excellent playmaker with excellent ball handling and passing skills. He scored seven points in his team’s semifinals victory, but he also dropped some nice dimes and played with a high motor.
Kylier Sturgeon 5’10” Tina-Avalon: A talented 2024 guard who displayed an impressive 3-point stroke throughout the semifinal game against SW Livingston. The young lefty scored 16 points and knocked down four 3-pointers. He also has good poise to go along with his sweet shooting stroke.
