Continue ReadingThis past week Covid 19 pauses at Conestoga, Marple Newtown and Upper Darby ended, but pauses went into in effect at Harriton and Lower Merion. So once again the Central League schedule did not feature a full slate of games. Still, with numerous canceled games to make up, there were multiple league contests taking place every night. Thus the outstanding performances by CAL prospects came pouring in.
Prep Hoops is here to highlight those outstanding individual performances in southeastern Pennsylvania’s Central League (District 1).
CJ Dabbs – 6’0’’ / Senior / Upper Darby / Combo Guard: The ultra-quick combo guard is quietly having a very nice season. Dabbs started off the week with a 16 point effort against Marple Newton and ended it with 11 points vs Radnor. Unfortunately Upper Darby went 0-2 in those contests and thus spoiled Dabbs week.
Josh Hagen – 6’2’ / Senior / Ridley / Wing: A lacrosse standout (Committed to Eastern University) for Ridley, this season Hagen has shown he can get buckets on the court as well. His latest evidence was a 16 point showing in a win over Springfield.
Saahir Lee Saahir Lee 5'11" | PG Penncrest | 2022 State PA – 6’0’ / Senior / Penncrest / Point Guard: In 2019-20 this standout floor general was focused on driving and kicking out to Penncrest’s group of lethal senior shooters. This season he has been called upon to score the ball every night and Lee has responded to that challenge – 14 ppg. His latest scoring effort was a 16 point night in a tough loss to Conestoga.
Danny Rosenblum – 5’10” / Sophomore / Radnor / Point Guard: Rosenblum stepped into a starting role for Radnor near the end of his freshman year and used that run as a foundation for a solid sophomore campaign. But lately the versatile guard has taken his game to another level. Rosenblum started his recent impressive run with 16 points vs streaking Marple Newtown. He then netted a season high 21 points in a tough 47-44 loss at Haverford. During a stretch of the 3rd quarter in that contest Rosenblum scored 12 straight points for Radnor. Finally, he scored 11 points in a win over Upper Darby.
Lewis Robinson Lewis Robinson 5'11" | CG Radnor | 2021 State PA – 5’10” / Senior / Radnor / Combo Guard: Robinson tipped off his week by scoring 10 points and eclipsing the 1,000 career points mark vs Marple Newtown. He added to that career total by scoring 11 in a loss at Haverford. The first 1,000 point scorer at Radnor since 2006 ended his week with 16 points in a much needed win for Radnor against Upper Darby.
Carl Schaller Carl Schaller 5'11" | CG Garnet Valley | 2021 State PA – 5’10” / Senior / Garnet Valley / Point Guard: The reigning Central League MVP (18.9 ppg in 2019-20) continues his case for taking home back-to-back MVP awards. Schaller posted 17 in a win over red hot Marple Newtown. The Jaguars record now stands at 12-3.
Mike Tansey – 6’0” / Senior / Marple Newtown / Combo Guard: Tansey’s play of late is a huge reason the Tigers are 4-1 in their last 5 games. Marple’s floor leader scored 20 points in a huge upset of Lower Merion. Tansey then hit 4 threes on his way to 24 points in a win over Upper Darby. He also posted 11 points vs Garnet Valley.
