This month’s Cedar City Showcase takes place Saturday and Sunday, February 20th and 21st in Cedar City Utah. The event features 16 club teams from around the state of Nevada and offers a fabulous opportunity for the players to gain exposure. Every player participating in this event will be evaluated for the upcoming PrepHoops Rankings. In this article, we take a look at some of the young players ready to make a name for themselves at the event.
Giali Chapman Giali Chapman 6'3" | CG Mojave | 2023 State NV 6’0 CG DIG 2023 (#21PHN 2023) – Really excited to watch Chapman in this setting. He was an extremely productive player last season for Centennial’s JV squad, this will be the first time I get to see him in action with DIG. A good shooter and scorer, I’m looking to see if he has become more of a 1 or 2.
Robert Blandanburg Robert Blandanburg 6'6" | SF SLAM | 2024 State NV 6’6 SF Redcats (#18PHN 2024) – I’m high on Blandanburg, but like many young players this season, I’ve had limited opportunities to see him. Although 6’6 he prefers to play on the perimeter. This weekend will offer a great test to those perimeter skills.
Graydon Lemke Graydon Lemke 6'10" | PF Faith Lutheran | 2024 State NV 6’5 PF Team Rogue 2024 (#14PHN 2024) – I’ve seen quite a bit of Lemke recently, and I know what I’m getting when he steps on the court. A player that does not lack for confidence, I’m looking for two things from Lemke. How productive is he playing against players in his age group? Does he remain productive when his shot isn’t falling?
Dylan Cooks 5’10 CG OTTG 2023 (featured image) – Cooks is a player that showed up to our expo and really impressed. I’m looking for the young player to take the next step. He has a lot of physical tools with his speed and quickness. I want to examine his IQ, and if he can score in other ways outside of transition finishes.
Chase Jackson Chase Jackson 6'8" | C Centennial | 2023 State NV 6’7 C LVXF 2023 (#31PHN 2023) – I simply want to see Jackson play. The 6’7 forward has been a mystery this past year. He’s a player that I will be giving a full review, examining the areas of his game that he’s improved. Jackson has the size and length to be an impact player not only this Spring but also next season, this event could serve as the Springboard.
