Pritchard is still the king of the 918 area code, and not much has changed.
He scored a cool, efficient 20 points for Webster on Thursday night to lead the Warriors to a revenge victory against the Tulsa Memorial powerhouse (in what has been one of the best in-city rivalries in the state during the past two years, by the way).
Pritchard is a phenomenal shooter, but his game has over the past two years, and it is not so much a stretch to say that he may be the most complete scoring guard in the state at this point. He can take the ball to the rim at will, has speed and quick-twitch moves paired with an established spatial awareness to enact all of his scoring maneuvers sharply and auspiciously on his path. Defenders rarely thieved from him the ball, and he was good as gold when attacking the basket.
A high volume of Webster’s offensive attacks ran through Pritchard, as well. He was the focal point on which the Warrior’s offense hinged Thursday night as he moved the ball to other scorers in the post and on the wings as Webster’s primary facilitator.
Martwon Taylor | 2021 Tulsa Webster SG x Isaiah Sanders | 2021 Tulsa Webster SG
When your roster only has seven players, you need a second option. Pritchard has two: Taylor and Sanders, and both of these guys can score the basketball.
Taylor and Sanders had 11 points apiece Thursday night, mostly coming during the second half, pacing Webster past Memorial.
They’re very similar offensively. Both have great speed, can space the floor with the shot, and can convert on tricky mid-range shots.
D’Narian Zeigler | 2021 John Marshall CG
Zeigler has all of the skills you want in a triple-threat scoring guard: he can score on the drive, hit shots from deep, he is a threat to distribute the ball on the drive, and he can hit mid-range shots (especially).
Against Northwest Classen, I was most impressed by his ability to hit shots out of the handle in transition, more than once pulling-up on a dime to hit shots above passing defenders.
Defensively, he is more than capable, as well, and is the type of player who can thieve opposing passes at a high rate and burn teams.
Marquez Cyrus Marquez Cyrus 6'2" | PG Northwest Classen | 2021 State OK | 2021 Northwest Classen G
Cyrus is one of the most lethally explosive guards in the area with highly underexposed bounce. It shows in every aspect of his game.
Defensively, Cyrus can protect the rim with his ability to elevate, but he can also guard the ball on the perimeter and keep a man in front of him.
Offensively, he can elevate to play at the rim, although he is equally capable scoring from the mid-range.
