CJ Young | 2021 Mustang PG

Young has become increasingly important in Mustang’s playoff plans as its primary on-ball facilitator. Young’s best skill may be his hand-work, which not only allows him to distribute the ball in motion with either hand, but it also helps him to increase his threat to score the ball, as he did especially well Friday night against Southmoore. Young is equally sharp defensively; he reads opposing ball-handlers with keen accuracy and moves, cuts and enacts angles on the ball to gather turnovers and score on the opposite end.

Dylan McDougal | 2021 Moore G-F

An especially athletic player, McDougal’s skill-set has great utility for Moore. He can play the point guard, shoot the ball out of screens, and even play the dunker’s spot. He struggled to be as effective against Mustang, deferring to Dockins typically, but that does not take away from his impressive two-way skill. His bounce out-of-the-gym helps him to protect the rim, rebound, and of course, score the basketball for the Lions, and when he is on, he is one of the most under-appreciated players in the COAC conference.
