Many teams are deep in their conference schedules and are beginning to prepare their routes to the state tournament. District tournament games are only a few short weeks away and teams are desperately attempting to find their way to the top of the conference ladder to secure bye’s as well as great rankings heading into the state tournaments. A lot of great players are really cementing their spots in the state ranking as the season progresses. Continue reading for a look at a handful of recent games from around Idaho.
Lighthouse Christian vs. Glenns Ferry: Lighthouse Christian cruised to a 35-point victory over Glenns Ferry recently due to a great night on offense, and lockdown defense throughout the game. Lighthouse Christian defied their own name by shooting the lights out and Glenns Ferry had no answer for the barrage of three-pointers and layups they faced. Glenns Ferry also struggled against a stifling defense with Lighthouse Christian applying a lot of ball pressure and forcing many turnovers. Lighthouse Christian was led by a game high 24-points from Clay Silva Clay Silva 5'10" | SG Lighthouse Christian | 2022 State ID . Jack DeJong and Collin Holloway rounded out double-digit scorers for Lighthouse Christian while scoring 13 and 12 points, respectively. Ty Crane led Glenns Ferry with 10 points.
Declo vs. Buhl: In a contest that went down to the wire, Declo was able to sneak out with a 4 point victory. The game was close the entire way and Declo was able to secure their victory thanks to knocking down free throws in the final minutes as well as keeping Buhl away from scoring on offense. This conference game shows the high level of basketball being played across the state no matter the size of the team or the division. Declo was led by Sam Nebeker adding 15 points and 9 rebounds as well as 16 points from Kaden Ramsey. Buhl was led by Drexler Jaynes’ 18 points and 14 rebunds and an additional 16 points from Caden Ray.
