Carson Kelly Carson Kelly 5'8" | PG Chandler | 2021 State AZ 5’10 PG 2021 Chandler
Kelly is not just a skilled passer. He is one of the top playmakers in all of 6A. He is averaging a little over 7 assists per game while also being responsible for scoring the basketball. His injury early in the season was unfortunate, but he has come back with all kinds of tenacity. Kelly is undersized but has elite speed and understands the angles of the game. He is one of the top unsigned seniors in this class and definitely worth a look.
EJ Pyers 5’10 PG 2022 Liberty
Pyers is one of the most skilled passers in the state that the state that few people know about. Liberty is running and shooting the basketball at a lights out level. Pyers is a big part of that. He has a great feel for the game and makes those around him better. Further, he puts the basketball on time and on target. His ability to pass the basketball has been vital to the incredible shooting of this Liberty team.
Malcolm Olexa Malcolm Olexa 5'11" | PG Sunnyslope | 2021 State AZ 6’0 PG 2021 Sunnyslope (Glendale Community College)
Sunnyslope is running more of the Princeton offense out of the point series with Olexa being a huge part of it. They are maximizing their bigs due in large part to the guards ability to get them the basketball. Olexa, who is a commit to Glendale Community College, is a hard nosed defender and more than capable shooter. However, what he has shown thus far in the season is that he can put guys in a position to be successful with his passing ability as well.
Dwight McKnight Dwight McKnight 6'1" | PG Valley Vista | 2021 State AZ 6’2 PG 2021 Valley Vista
McKnight and Valley Vista have played a tough stretch of games. This group is one of the most competitive in 6A. McKnight is the floor general who is responsible for getting everyone involved. As he executes the offense and creates for others, Valley Vista goes. He has a good basketball IQ and the ability to make those around him better.
Rowen McKenzie 6’1 PG 2024 Boulder Creek
McKenzie is the only FR on this list. While there are only extremely skilled passers in 6A, McKenzie stands out due to the fact that he is only a FR. Boulder Creek’s future looks bright with McKenzie running the show. In addition to averaging nearly 4 assists per game, the young man is averaging nearly 7 rebounds and 14 points as well. He is a prospect who is worth watching going forward.
