I don’t think it’s hyperbole to say that for the Junior class, this may be the most important Spring and Summer season in the history of high school basketball. Hopefully, as the world moves back to normal, these players will be granted one more opportunity to display their skills in front of scouts and coaches alike. Many of these players have been working hard and are poised to take advantage of this opportunity. In this article, we take a look at a five players in the class of 2022 ready to capitalize this summer.
Tavionte Jackson
TavionteJackson6'1" | PGLas Vegas | 2022State#189NationNV 6’1 PG Las Vegas (#4PHN 2022) - I bet Jackson feels like a caged beast right now. Just before the lockdowns hit, the PG was playing some of his basketball and was ready to put his name on the regional map. He’s been phenomenal, but without a consistent platform to showcase his skill, it’s been difficult for him to pick up the traction he deserves. If he plays this summer, the way he did last then the offers and interests will take care of themselves.
Aaron PriceAaronPrice6'7" | PFLiberty | 2022StateNV 6’7 PF Liberty (#8PHN 2022) - It feels like an agonizingly long time

Pogo stick athletes like this are always fun to watch in the summertime and if he’s playing with Vegas Elite this summer, then he’s going against top competition each night, Providing a perfect opportunity to make his mark.
Dontrell Johnson
DontrellJohnson6'5" | PFBonanza | 2022StateNV 6’5 PF Bonanza (#13PHN 2022) (featured image) - Johnson has looked good recently, and this summer just may be his breakout season. I expect his athleticism and defensive versatility, to impress coaches, and if he can continue to show improvement in his shooting and overall ball skills, I anticipate interest in him growing.
Jack FerrenceJackFerrence5'11" | SGLake Mead Christian Academy | 2022StateNV 5’11 SG Lake Mead Christian Academy (#72PHN 2022) - I like high academic guys that can shoot the ball. Insert Ferrence. Ferrence had a productive sophomore season for LMCA last time he suited up and has been playing against good competition in camps and tournaments since the season lockdown. He may not be a high major guy, but he certainly has the tools to earn himself a college scholarship somewhere.
Malakai ChristianMalakaiChristian6'4" | PFSierra Vista | 2022StateNV 6’4 PF Sierra Vista (#76PHN 2022) - I’ve actually had some rumblings about Christian from other coaches. He has a huge frame and could certainly add frontline depth to the right small school. After seeing limited high school minutes, what he needs is a consistent opportunity to showcase his interior defense and rebounding. This summer just may allow for that.
