We spoke with Team Ten Jabari Parker 15U coach Angie Foster to discuss their trio of 2024 prospects. Today go 3 for 1 Intro 2024: Taevion Collier, Sean Brown-Coley, & Payton Kamin!
Taevion Collier (Curie – Center)
How would you best describe his game at this stage?
He definitely has an old school back to the basket style of play. He models his game after Hakeem Olajuwon.
What is his current height and weight?
6’5 200lbs
Long term what is an area that you believe can be developed in his game that might not be as evident right now?
His face up game taking the defender off the dribble getting to the basket.
What are the biggest traits he will bring to your program over the next several years?
He is a player who watches film of himself and critiques himself on what he needs to work on and actually get in the gym and work hard on being quicker with moves once he receives a pass and running to fill the lane to make easy baskets.
Is there a recent Illinois high school player that he reminds you of at a young age?
His brother Cliff Alexander who was raw talent and by his junior year was a phenomenal player.
Has there been any early college recruitment with him yet?
He has an offer from the University of Detroit and several other colleges interested.
Sean Brown-Coley (Whitney Young – Guard)
How would you best describe his game at this stage?
A player who can play several positions from the one to the four because of his physical strength and big body structure.
What is his current height and weight?
6’0 190lbs
Long term what is an area that you believe can be developed in his game that might not be as evident right now?
If he continues to work on his ball handling and leadership he can develop into a good point guard.
What are the biggest traits he will bring to your program over the next several years?
The fact again that he can play multiple positions makes him such a valuable player and brings a lot versatility to our team.
Is there a recent Illinois high school player that he reminds you of at a young age?
He is definitely a Talen Horton-Tucker prototype.
Has there been any early college recruitment with him yet?
He has garnered interest from the University of Detroit.
Payton Kamin
How would you best describe his game at this stage?
He is a skilled big guard with shooting range that is unbelievable.
What is his current height and weight?
6’4 160
Long term what is an area that you believe can be developed in his game that might not be as evident right now?
Working more on handling the ball with makes him so much more valuable at being able to run the point and play the 2.
What are the biggest traits he will bring to your program over the next several years?
He is very skilled and is a student of the game combined with his ability to shoot with range and make buckets in clutch situations will definitely keep us competitive.
Is there a recent Illinois high school player that he reminds you of at a young age?
Not so recent but he reminds me of Jon Scheyer. He can fill up a stat sheet.
Has there been any early college recruitment with him yet?
He has interest from DePaul, Northwestern, Indiana and Gonzaga
