This Freshman class is truly something special, the group consists of prospects that are extremely skilled, highly athletic, gifted with size, and already have a good understanding of the game. Most, if not all of these Freshmen athletes, will become the most talked about, most-watched, and most recruited players in North Texas over the next three years. This will be a series of articles that breakdown each prospect and their best skills from the 2024 Dallas/Fort Worth Rankings Watch List.
Lejai Jordan Lejai Jordan 6'2" | CG Mansfield Legacy | 2024 State TX | Combo Guard | Mansfield Legacy
This 2024 recruit possesses quality skills at both guard positions along with a great feel for the game and a high basketball IQ for such a young player. Jordan displays good court vision and the ability to read defenses, he’s also an exceptional passer as an off-guard where he can attract attention from defenders with his scoring which then opens up his game as a facilitator, will likely become a dangerous drive and dish weapon. Lejai can put up points with the best of them, he’s a solid bucket getter at all three levels that can smoothly beat his man off the dribble, can score off the catch-and-shoot from deep, and has a reliable pull-up jump shot in the mid-range. On the defensive end, he gives a relentless effort and has a good nose for the ball. Cooper Guerra Cooper Guerra 6'4" | SG Keller | 2024 State TX is a fundamentally sound prospect with a scorers mentality. This future sharpshooter has good mechanics, an effortless shooting stroke, a high release, perfect elevation, and a shooter’s touch. Guerra excels in both the open court and half-court settings. Good stride up and down the court, Cooper can run the floor very well, usually beating the defense to the basket in transition, and also moving around to get open and hit spot-up jumpers from long range. He’s most dangerous when he’s allowed to leak out and lead the fast break, Guerra can completely change the outcome of a game with his transitional play. He’s shown potential to become a shooting specialist due to his consistency, his ability to make every shot whether it’s a layup, floater, runner, or a quick catch-and-shoot opportunity, and his knack for getting the ball up and out of his hands in a hurry from anywhere on the floor. Cooper Guerra Cooper Guerra 6'4" | SG Keller | 2024 State TX also does a great job of avoiding contact on the drive and still getting his shot off by using his length to get the ball over the contesting defense.

True Freshman, Micah Robinson Micah Robinson 6'6" | SF Oak Hill Academy | 2024 State #91 Nation VA is already contributing in a major way for a very talented Frisco High School team. This slasher has consistently displayed pure finishing abilities under the hoop. Once Robinson gets inside the paint, the chances of him putting the ball into the hole are extremely high. The Frisco forward has a knack for finding creases and openings in the lane which often leads to him making timely cuts to the basket for easy layups. Good versatility as well, Micah can make his presence felt and change the game on both ends of the floor. His size fits him perfectly at his position, great basketball frame, broad shoulders, long arms, and huge hands. This young man has been having a terrific freshman year thus far, Robinson has been a crucial piece to the Frisco Raccoons’ success this season, stuffing the stat sheet and being the second leading scoring for his team in most games. Jaylen Washington Jaylen Washington 5'9" | PG Dynamic Prep | 2024 State #293 Nation TX is a dribbling machine that has lethal speed and quickness to go along with his effective crossovers and a deadly first step. Washington has a way of getting his defenders off balance and out of position before attacking. He’s an incredible ball handler that can make any move, get to any spot on the floor, anytime he wants. Jaylen’s dribbling proficiency makes him look unguardable in one-on-one situations at times, he’s even crossed over and broken the ankles of some of the best defenders in his class. Washington shows phenomenal touch near the basket, he can get inside and finish on both sides on the hoop, and his floaters are practically automatic from 12 feet in. He gets the ball up in a blink of an eye and has no trouble making tough shots while drawing the foul or being challenged at the rim.
