With the newly updated 2023 rankings coming out this week, let’s jump into some positional breakdowns. Here’s a look at the top Sophomore shooting guards and combo guards. We are going to skip over the players in the Top 10 of the class since those players have already been broken down in our Top 10 article.

Kenyon GoodinKenyonGoodin6'3" | CGCollins | 2023StateKY, Collins - A two sport star who is likely to have offers in football and basketball before all is said and done. Kenyon plays with a great motor and defensive intensity. He needs to become a more consistent three point shooter to reach his ceiling but his mechanics are good so he should see his percentages raise over time.

Cam McClainCamMcClain6'1" | SGTrinity | 2023StateKY, Trinity - McClain has hit a little bit of a Sophomore slump with his shooting but he's still a top talent in the city of Louisville in this class. Cam has a good build and is capable of bullying opposing guards to get to the rim. He could ultimately be a point guard but for now, Cam is a combo who probably plays off the ball more than he does on it.
