With the newly updated 2023 rankings coming out this week, let’s jump into some positional breakdowns. Here’s a look at the top Sophomore power forwards and centers. We are going to skip over the players in the Top 10 of the class since those players have already been broken down in our Top 10 article.

Chandler StarksChandlerStarks6'6" | PFCovington Catholic | 2023StateKY, Covington Catholic - Starks is an old school post player who can play on the block or can catch the ball and face up to pass to cutters. He’s not much of a shooter from range but that could be because he doesn’t take many of them. He’s a threat to get a double-double every night out and has a chance to be a D1 recruit once he either grows or adds more stretch to his game.

Eian ElmerEianElmer6'6" | PFHolmes | 2023StateKY, Holmes - One of the best athletes in the class, Elmer should eventually transition to being a big wing. Eian has a ton of potential thanks to his size and athleticism but he has to get his motor running all the time if he wants to be a top tier player in the state.
