Most basketball fans are familiar with the NBA league pass where you can watch any NBA game regardless of where you live. Here’s a rankings of the most fun to watch Kentucky high school teams in my opinion.
- North Laurel – They are the highest scoring team we have seen in Kentucky in a long time and between Reed Sheppard Reed Sheppard 6'3" | PG North Laurel | 2023 State #22 Nation KY and Ryan Davidson Ryan Davidson 6'4" | SF North Laurel | 2023 State KY dunking and Clay Sizemore Clay Sizemore 5'9" | SG North Laurel | 2022 State KY hitting 5 or more threes per night, these Jags play a very exciting brand of basketball and are my top choice if KHSAA League Pass is a thing.
- Lexington Catholic – Catholic was already fun to watch with their 5 out offense and pressing defense but with the arrival of John Mccrear John Mccrear 6'8" | PF Woodfard | 2023 State #219 Nation KY last month, they’re now playing above the rim more consistently and have two guys (with Reece Potter Reece Potter 6'11" | C Lexington Catholic | 2023 State #212 Nation KY ) who are rejecting shots at about 12-15 blocks per game. Not to mention Ben Johnson Ben Johnson 6'3" | CG Lexington Catholic | 2021 State KY can go for 40 on any given night.
- Male – As if Kaleb Glenn Kaleb Glenn 6'7" | SF La Lumiere | 2023 #64 Nation IN alone wasn’t worth watching, Cam Pope Cam Pope 6'2" | CG Male | 2021 State KY can become the human torch from outside at any time and the Sophomore duo of Kyran Tilley Kyran Tilley 6'1" | PG Evangel Christian | 2024 State KY and Meechie White Meechie White 6'3" | CG Male | 2023 State KY are two of the highest upside guards in Louisville in the Sophomore class. Coach Haworth likes to press and run and that makes a great viewing experience.
- Ballard – With Gabe Sisk Gabe Sisk 6'5" | SG Ballard | 2023 #232 Nation CA-N running the wing and Maker Bar Maker Bar 6'9" | C Ballard | 2022 State KY dunking everything he can get his hands on, Coach Renner has a very exciting brand of basketball. Keno Hayden, Chaunte Marrero and DJ Tilford DJ Tilford 6'1" | SF Ballard | 2022 State KY are all double figure scorers and there is a long tradition of cutting nets at Ballard every year. If you have a chance, check out these Bruins.
- George Rogers Clark – Coach Cook has taken the NBA style of play and applied it to high school. The Cards are shooting a lot of 3s and layups and playing the analytics game. They’ve struggled a little lately but once Jerone Morton Jerone Morton 6'3" | SG George Rogers Clark | 2023 State KY gets back healthy to go with Jared Wellman Jared Wellman 6'4" | SF George Rogers Clark | 2021 State KY , Trent Edwrards and Aden Slone Aden Slone 5'9" | PG George Rogers Clark | 2022 State KY , they’ll be back to the high flying offense they were in December.
