In his first ever varsity basketball game, Jacksonville HS Freshman Amaree Barber Amaree Barber 6'0" | CG Jacksonville | 2024 State NC looked comfortable on the court , scoring and facilitating at a nice level. The lefty uses his speed to get out into transition but also looked pretty comfortable playing in the halfcourt.
Farmville Central Sophomore Guard Jayden Pitt Jayden Pitt 5'11" | PG Farmville Central | 2023 State NC had a nice showing this weekend, stepping up and making some plays , especially in the first half. He showcased his ability to knock down shots as well as his ability handle some of the Pg duties.
One of the top stockrisers over the weekend was South Granville Junior 6’5 Wing Collin Tanner Collin Tanner 6'6" | SF Combine Academy | 2023 State NC ! In their matchup against Farmville Central he was huge for his team providing: Scoring , Rebounding & Assist, finishing with 26 Points, 9 Rebounds & 7 Assist. We liked how well he shot the ball from midrange and the upside that he has.
Jacksonville HS Junior Forward Shawn Jones was the Player Of The Game in their matchup with North Edgecombe, scoring 16 Points & pulling down 12 Rebounds. Jones understands how to use his athletic ability to make plays on both ends of the floor and played with a high motor throughout the day.
North Edgecombe Junior Guard Amarion McCrae Amarion McCrae 6'4" | SF North Edgecombe | 2022 State NC led the way for his team against JHS. Alrhough they came up short, he put up a solid performance to help them stay competitive. He scored 14 Points and snatched down 7 Boards, using his strength to make plays inside and out.
South Granville HS Junior 6’6 Forward Kaleb Hedgepeth Kaleb Hedgepeth 6'6" | PF South Granville | 2022 State NC didn’t have a huge day scoring wise but he found ways to make positive plays using his size to pull down boards. If South Granville hopes to make a deep run in the state playoffs, they will need him to play well consistently.
