Demar Anderson Demar Anderson 6'3" | CG Victory Christian Center | 2021 State NC | 6’2 Guard | Victory Christian Center | 2021
Anderson had a big week as Victory Christian Center continues to put itself on the map. He put up 28 points against Lake Norman Christian on 10-of-14 shooting from the floor and 4-of-6 shooting from 3-point range. He’s a strong guard that can get to the rim and find his rhythm in a hurry on the perimeter as he’s shown this season. He’s generating interest from Lincoln Memorial, Catawba among others while also earning an offer from Fayetteville Tech this week.
Luke Proctor Luke Proctor 6'1" | CG Apex Friendship | 2021 State NC | 6’1 Guard | Apex Friendship | 2021
Luke Proctor Luke Proctor 6'1" | CG Apex Friendship | 2021 State NC is a key piece in the backcourt for the Apex Friendship Patriots season. He’s a long and wiry guard that can create for himself and others using his size and IQ for making plays. He put up 16 points, five assists, five rebounds and three steals in a victory over Fuquay-Varina to keep the season record perfect at 4-0. He’s got the ability to create on all three levels and a ton of confidence to go along with it.
Sheick Samoura | 6’4 Guard/Wing | Fuquay-Varina | 2021
Samoure came up big for the Bengals in their 69-68 overtime victory over Heritage with 20 points and three rebounds. He showed that when his shot isn’t falling on the perimeter, he’s still capable of getting to the rim and finishing in traffic. Through the first four games of the season, he’s producing 18.0 ppg and 3.3 rpg while shooting 61 percent from the floor. They took their first loss to Apex Friendship this past Friday but look for them to make some noise in conference play.
Ryan Maslow Ryan Maslow 6'5" | SF Fuquay Varina | 2021 State NC | 6’7 Wing/Forward | Fuquay-Varina | 2021
Maslow is an emerging forward prospect that’s budding on the perimeter and in the paint for Fuquay-Varina. He’s posted 15.0 ppg, 8.3 rpg, 4.8 aps, 1.3 spg and 1.0 bpg through the first four games for the Bengals. He’s been a solid playmaker and rebounder to go along with his ability to score it in traffic. His 3-point shooting is coming along as he’s got a nice shooting stroke. Look for him to play a role in the rotation’s success.
Jaheim Taylor Jaheim Taylor 6'3" | CG Princeton | 2021 State NC | 6’4 Guard/Wing | Princeton | 2021
Taylor is a prospect that plays with a ton of energy and it’s shown already with their 3-0 start to the season. He’s putting up 22.7 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 4.3 spg and 4.0 apg through their first three contests while shooting 58 percent from the field. He’s a player that doesn’t settle for shots on the perimeter often and likes to use his length and ability to get to the paint and make plays. He’s also shooting 45 percent from 3-point range.
Lewis Duarte Lewis Duarte 6'6" | CG Huntington Prep | 2022 NC | 6’5 Wing/Guard | Victory Christian Center | 2022
Duarte is an emerging prospect on the wing that can create off the bounce and score it on all three levels. He put up 16 points against IMG National and put up 20 points on 8-of-9 shooting from the field and 2-of-3 shooting from behind the arc along with three rebounds, two assists and a steal against Lake Norman Christian in the past few weeks. He’s got a ton of athleticism and length in his skillset and his recruitment is beginning to pickup.
Gabe Proctor Gabe Proctor 6'2" | SG Apex Friendship | 2022 State NC | 6’1 Guard | Apex Friendship | 2022
Gabe Proctor Gabe Proctor 6'2" | SG Apex Friendship | 2022 State NC is an emerging three-level scorer for the Patriots. He’s the younger brother of Luke, but plays big, as were his 19 points, two rebounds and two assists in their victory over Fuquay-Varina. He’s a dead-eye shooter that likes to catch defenders off guard and knock down shots on the perimeter and in the mid-range. He’s also got the underrated ability to get to the rim and finish in traffic.
Daniel Sanford Daniel Sanford 6'8" | PF JL Chambers | 2022 State NC | 6’8 Forward | Vance | 2022
Sanford and Vance are off to a 3-0 start while averaging 26.0 ppg, 10.7 rpg and 2.7 apg while shooting 64 percent from the field. He opened the season with 29 points and 17 rebounds against Mallard Creek and hasn’t looked back. He’s put up at least 20 points per game in each of his three appearances this season and is a big reason the Cougars are a 4A favorite.
Corey Jones Corey Jones 6'1" | SG South Garner | 2022 State NC | 6’1 Guard | South Garner | 2022
Jones has been a solid new addition to the South Garner rotation in 2020-21. He’s putting up 20.0 ppg and 6.3 apg in the backcourt with 10 made 3-pointers through their first four games. He put up a season-high 29 points of 5-of-8 shooting from behind the arc in their victory over Apex on Tuesday and followed that up with 18 points against Middle Creek, though it came in a loss. He’s not shy about making plays for others this season as he’s posted at least 5 assists in all four contests this season. Look for his stock to grow in the 2022 class.
Avion Pinner Avion Pinner 6'9" | PF Concord Academy | 2023 State NC | 6’7 Forward | Riverside | 2022
Pinner is off to a strong start in the frontcourt for 3-0 Riverside, producing 25.3 ppg, 8.0 rpg and 1.7 bpg. He put up 33 points and 14 rebounds against Northside-Pinetown this past Friday to lift his squad to a 68-46 victory. He’s a forward with a ton of ability on both ends and just scratching the surface with his length. He’ll be one to track as his recruitment grows this season.
Davis Molnar Davis Molnar 6'6" | SF Terry Sanford | 2022 State NC | 6’6 Forward/Wing | Terry Sanford | 2022
Following just a four-point performance in a victory over Douglas Byrd on Jan. 13, Molnar put up 38 points on 13-of-18 shooting against South View in a 91-59 victory on Friday evening. He also racked up 15 rebounds, seven assists, four steals and four blocks to show off his versatility. He’s slowly showing his growth on the hardwood as the NCHSAA season rolls on. Through four games, he’s putting up 17.0 ppg, 11.3 rpg, 6.0 apg, 3.0 spg and 1.8 bpg.
Nigel Okwakol | 6’4 Guard/Wing | South Garner | 2022
South Garner is off to a 2-2 start and Okwakol is filling up the stat sheet with 16.0 ppg, 7.8 rpg, 6.3 apg and 1.5 spg and shooting 63 percent from the floor through their first four contests. He dished out a season-high 11 assists in the Titans’ victory over Apex on Tuesday. He also posted 19 points, seven rebounds and four assists though it came in an 80-78 loss to Middle Creek on Friday. He’s an emerging prospect that can create and make plays for others with the ball in his hands with nice length and athleticism.
