The Coppell Cowboys went on the road and beat the Lewisville Farmers 83-73 on Tuesday, and the Prosper Eagles hosted and defeated the Allen Eagles in overtime by a score of 79-66 on Friday.
Here are five standout seniors from this past week’s action:
Kylin Green Kylin Green 6'0" | PG Lewisville | 2021 State TX | 2021 | 6’0’’ Point Guard | Lewisville HS – Green is a shifty ball handler who can create for himself and others. He had an excellent offensive outing vs. Coppell. The Lewisville point guard displayed the ability to score on and off the ball. He was also productive as a playmaker, ultimately accounting for 15 points, three rebounds, and eight assists on Tuesday.
Justin Olaleye | 2021 | 6’0’’ Combo Guard | Prosper HS – Olaleye was sensational on Friday, finishing the contest with 21 points, four rebounds, seven assists, and two blocks. The senior guard made several big-time plays, highlighted by a turnaround jumper to beat the fourth quarter buzzer, sending the game into overtime. He was aggressive on offense, getting downhill and attacking the basket off the dribble, but also showed that he can knock down the three ball when necessary.
Ian Motta Ian Motta 6'6" | SF Allen | 2021 State TX | 2021 | 6’6’’ Small Forward | Allen HS – Motta is a terrific three-point shooter from the catch, evidenced by his trio of triples against Prosper on Friday. He was great on defense as well, guarding numerous positions and elevating over opponents for some really good-looking defensive rebounds. Additionally, the 2021 wing looked comfortable handling the ball in transition and was automatic from the foul line. He ended the game with 23 points, nine rebounds, and four steals.
Neal Utrup | 2021 | 6’2’’ Shooting Guard | Prosper HS – Utrup put together a tremendous all-around performance vs. Allen. He knocked down a three in the first quarter, made smart decisions with the basketball, and came up with some well-timed stops on defense. The senior two-guard does whatever is required of him at both ends of the court and contributes without forcibly inserting himself into plays. Utrup finished the game with 13 points, six rebounds, five assists, four steals, and a block.
Mason Gibson Mason Gibson 6'1" | SG Allen | 2021 State TX | 2021 | 6’1’’ Combo Guard | Allen HS – Gibson displayed great body control on Friday, weaving his way through traffic and either finishing with finesse at the rim or kicking it out to a shooter for a good look from the perimeter. The Oakland commit is an accurate facilitator and a solid defender. He had some early struggles as a scorer but fought his way through them while helping erase a 19-point deficit, turning what looked like a blowout into a very competitive contest.
