Feller had a huge game in the Indians loss to Monticello, putting up 13 points and 14 rebounds. He’s really strong on the glass, making good, hard contact on his box-outs. He’s got great hands, is a good finisher with either hand around the bucket and does a great job sealing his defender and getting strong post position.
Zane Witt, Camanche (2023)
Witt is an intriguing prospect to monitor moving forward, a springy and fluid 6-7 sophomore. He runs the floor well, can protect the rim a bit, and finishes with either hand around the bucket. He finished with 11 points on 5-7 shooting with 5 rebounds and a block.
Justin Recker Justin Recker 6'6" | PF Monticello | 2021 State IA , Monticello (2021)
Recker is a high-level player who is remarkably productive and efficient. He put up 16 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 blocks in the win over Camanche, showcasing a little bit of everything in his arsenal. He has the ability to score at will when he touches it on the block and he has a silky smooth stroke out to the arc. He flashed some passing ability, recognizing the double-team quickly and kicking to the top of the key for an open 3. The most impressive part of his game, however, was the improved ball-handling that he flashed. He had a play where he got a steal around midcourt, went behind the back to split two defenders, and went coast-to-coast for a layup. That was a play that he probably wasn’t making last year. He’s likely a stretch-4 at the next level, but if he keeps improving the ball-handling, he could possibly bump out to the wing.
Dylan Johnson Dylan Johnson 6'6" | SF Western Dubuque | 2021 State IA , Western Dubuque (2021)
Johnson will play college ball at NAIA Morningside, and he had an impressive game against Kennedy, scoring 15 points with 8 rebounds and 3 assists. He served as the primary ball-handler, routinely bringing the ball up for the Bobcats at 6-6. He can initiate the offense and he handles the ball really well for a young big man his size. He’s not an overwhelming athlete, but he’s fluid and moves well. He has a silky smooth jumper with range out to the arc, a quick release, and some go-to moves when he touches it on the block. I love his potential as a stretch-4 for the Mustangs.
Mason Harter Mason Harter 6'6" | PF Wapsie Valley | 2023 State IA , Wapsie Valley (2023)
Harter moved to Wapsie Valley after a productive freshman year at Sigourney, and he’s been great for the Warriors. A mobile, 6-5 big man, he runs the floor really well and is a solid rim protector. Early on in their win over Jesup, he did a great job staying vertical and using his pure size and length to block shots. After he blocked a few, he started to get a bit more aggressive in his pursuit of blocks and picked up a few silly fouls, but he can be a solid defender. His left hand and footwork on the block still need some work, but he showed the ability to catch at the free-throw line and put the ball on the floor to get to the rim. He’s got good hands and is a willing passer as well. It’ll be interesting to see how his game continues to develop.
Carson Lienau, Jesup (2022)
Lienau had a strong game for the J-Hawks, putting up 17 points and 11 rebounds on 7-8 shooting. A big body in the paint, the lefty showed great touch around the bucket, finishing through contact on a few occasions. He even stretched out to the arc and knocked down a 3, showing a smooth stroke.
