Cape Fear HS Sophomore Guard Masaun Moore-Bryant has been thrown into the fire this year handling a high amount of PG minutes but he’s done a solid job so far this year. In their toughest test of the season against Terry Sanford, he did a nice job of getting into the gaps of the offense and making good reads/passes. He kept his turnovers fairy low, shot the ball well and is showing plenty of promise as a prospect.
Laney HS Sophomore Forward Joe Bachman is another young player that has some potential and could develop into a nice prospect if he puts in the work. He still has a ways to go but he already stands at 6’7and gives effort on both ends of the floor.
Richmond County Freshman Paul McNeil is proving himself as D1 prospect and the matchup against Lumberton was an opportunity for him to showcase his potential. In the first half McNeil went for 22 Points, knocking down five three point shots as well as rebounding the ball at a high level.
Cape Fear HS Freshman Forward Jermiah Melvin is still what we would consider a raw talent but he showed some flashes of what he can be in their matchup with TSHS. At about 6’4 with a solid looking stroke and the potential to be a good rebounder, he’s one to keep a close eye on.
Laney HS Freshman Guard Josh Helms Josh Helms 6'0" | CG Laney | 2024 State NC is a player that we got a chance to see last year at FAB40 Middle School Camp and C3C MiniCamp. He was impressive in both of those events and he has not wasted much time getting going at the varsity level for Laney. Keep a close eye on this young man, he has the talent and work ethic to be a special prospect before it’s all said and done.
