Julian Reese Julian Reese 6'8" | C St. Frances | 2021 State #109 Nation MD | 6’9 | St. Frances
Overall ranking: No. 5
Positional ranking: No. 1
Reese experienced a breakout season as a junior playing a critical role on a St. Frances team that was considered top 25 in the country for a majority of the season. His size, versatility and activity in the paint was essential going up against some of the other top programs in the country. Reese got off to a dominant start to his senior season as the future Maryland Terrapin compiled a ridiculous stat line of 40 points, 22 rebounds and 10 blocks in a win over the Maryland Eagles. Reese’s play this fall and winter has been impressive and consistent, which played a big role in him being named the top center in the MD/DC 2021 rankings.
Jamai Felt Jamai Felt 6'8" | C Randallstown | 2021 State MD | 6’8 | Randallstown
Overall ranking: No. 25
Positional ranking: No. 4
Felt burst onto the scene this summer thanks to his play with Team Choo. At 6-foot-8, the lefty is oozing of potential and comes equipped with the tools and size to be an impact player at the next level. Felt plays with great energy on both ends that translates him into being a vicious above the rim finisher, a violent shot-blocker and an assertive rebounder. Felt was primed for a huge senior year with Randallstown in Baltimore County where he wouldn’t have faced many opposing bigs that could handle him.
Kevin Kalu Kevin Kalu 6'10" | C Mt. Carmel | 2021 State MD | 6’8 | Mt. Carmel
Overall ranking: No. 59
Positional ranking: No. 9
Kalu made the move from City to Mt. Carmel this summer and fills a vital frontcourt hole left behind by Koralp Turk Koralp Turk 6'7" | PF Mt. Carmel | 2021 MD . At 6-foot-8, Kalu brings great size and length in the paint and has proven he can finish over the rim with authority. Kalu is an excellent screen-setter who rolls to the rim with intent on finishing every catch. He runs the floor with consistency and pursues rebounds at their peak on both ends.
Cole Paar Cole Paar 6'9" | C Glenelg Country | 2021 State MD | 6’9 | Glenelg Country
Overall ranking: No. 62
Positional ranking: No. 11
Paar had a nice summer with DC Premier where he showcased his IQ as a swingman within the offense. As a sophomore he was extremely effective on his catches at the high-post where he’d face up, read the defense and either deliver pinpoint passes to cutting backdoor teammates or utilize 1-to-2 dribbles to get to the rim and finish with soft touch. The Dragons were entering this season with a fair share of question marks and I was looking forward to seeing if Paar could be the stabilizing presence as the anchor.
