Big performances in Washington Township – Morgan Township game
In one of the 4 first round matchups in the Porter County Conference Tournament, Washington Township was able to beat Morgan Township 54-49 in what was a very close battle throughout. There were a ton of big time performances from our prospects this game and the one that led the night in scoring was Washington Township’s James Hernandez with 22 points with 20 of those points coming from his huge second half. His teammate, senior guard Tyler Hachey, also had a huge night with his 21 points. On the other side the ball, Morgan Township’s top player of the night was Tate Ivanyo Tate Ivanyo 6'4" | SG Morgan Township | 2021 State IN with his 16 point, 10 rebound double-double while his teammate Ethan Lesko dropped 14 points as well. With this win, Washington Township will face Boone Grove in the semifinals on Thursday 1/21.
Cardinal Ritter survives Herron
Last night was the start of the Indianapolis City Alliance Tournament and one of those games saw Cardinal Ritter survive a very close game against Indianapolis Herron, 94-86. The main reason for the Raiders being able to get this huge win was for the 26 point performances from both Jordan Turner and Aidan Cannon. However, the top player and leading scorer of the night was Herron’s Ty Brown with his huge 33 point game. This was a fun game and with the win, Cardinal Ritter will go on and face a tough Crispus Attucks team on Thursday 1/21.
Atkinson records 4th Triple-Double
In their 7th win of the season of the season over Brown County last night, Owen Valley’s Stephen Atkinson Stephen Atkinson 6'6" | PF Owen Valley | 2021 State IN recorded his 4th triple-double of the season with 21 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists. Atkinson is a 6’6 forward who can play both inside and out with great shooting ability. I think it is safe to say that Atkinson has been one of the best and most improved players in the state this season. He is one of the main reasons Owen Valley is 7-5 this season and is for sure making a case that he can play at the next level.
