Leon Bond Leon Bond 6'5" | SF Wauwatosa East | 2022 State #62 Nation WI – 2022 – SF – Wauwatosa East
Thought Bond had one of his better all-around performances in a win over Brookfield Central. He scored a team-high 18 points, but it was Bond’s defense that was an x-factor for the Red Raiders. He started off on Central’s star forward and then in the second half switched to the hot hand on the perimeter and held him scoreless. Thought Bond also did a nice job on the glass and making plays for others in transition. A high-upside, budding small forward, Bond remains arguably the best pure prospect in Wisconsin’s 2022 class. By the end of the summer, expect mid-majors to be flocking his way. If his jumper continues to progress and becomes consistent, there’s nothing stopping Bond from the high-major/power-five level given his coachability, athleticism, and motor.
Jake Fisher Jake Fisher 6'1" | CG Oconomowoc | 2022 State WI – 2022 – G – Oconomowoc
Really like what this kid brings to the table. Not going to wow anybody with skills, athleticism, etc., but makes the most out of his talent, plays with a high-IQ, and has a great basketball feel. Fisher scored 22 points, including the game-winner to lead Oconomowoc past Waukesha South on Wednesday. A combo guard who can score and distribute the basketball, Fisher does a great job of combining poise with assertiveness. He can score in chunks, but doesn’t take bad shots. Fisher makes the right basketball plays, doesn’t make many mistakes, and elevates those around him.
Max Golembiewski Max Golembiewski 6'2" | CG Monroe | 2021 State WI – 2021 – G – Monroe
He’s not one of the marquee players for Monroe, but don’t discount Golembiewski’s value. He stepped up in a big way during Monday’s win over Darlington, hitting timely shots from the perimeter. When it looked like Darlington was going to make a run and overtake Monroe, Golembiewski ripped off a couple of triples to silence those spurts. Golembiewski plays on and off the ball for the Cheesemakers. He delivered a couple of nice assists on top of his double-figure scoring effort on Monday as well.
Carter Lancaster Carter Lancaster 6'4" | SF Darlington | 2021 State WI – 2021 – SF – Darlington
Just love the way Lancaster goes about his business. An extremely competitive and tough-minded prospect, Lancaster has a noticeable edge on the floor. Lancaster willed his team in the second half to push the game into overtime. Finishing with 19 points and 9 rebounds, Lancaster took the ball to the rim with a vengeance and simply beat people up around the rim. He didn’t shoot it as well from the 3-point line or the charity stripe as he’s capable of, but certainly elevated his game when Darlington needed a run. A utility swingman who doesn’t have a lot of holes in his game and can contribute in a variety of ways, Lancaster is very polished and shows a high floor IQ. An underrated passer, Lancaster really utilizes ball fakes well to move the defense and subtly create opportunities for himself and others.
Cade Meyer Cade Meyer 6'8" | PF Monroe | 2021 State #237 Nation WI – 2021 – PF – Monroe
Meyer looks to be more physical this season. The UW-Green Bay commit lived at the free throw line during Monday’s victory over Darlington. In a physical, low scoring game, Meyer was much more assertive taking the ball to the rim and drawing contact. The 6-foot-8 forward looked really good coming off screens and shooting the ball as well. Finishing with a game-high 20 points, Meyer drilled some tough shots, starting in the post, curling off a screen, and knocking down deep jumpers or 3-pointers.
Ben Nau Ben Nau 6'1" | PG Brookfield Central | 2021 State WI – 2021 – G – Brookfield Central
A big reason why Brookfield Central was able to keep hanging around against Wauwatosa East was Nau. The St. Thomas commit has a habit of not allowing his team to die and hit timely shots, especially from 3-point range. He’s very good at using or rejecting ball screens and shooting going either to his right or his left, which keeps defenses guessing. More of a sharpshooter, Nau looked improved as a dribble penetrator, knifing his way through traffic and creating easy buckets at the rim. A potential early impact player at the D1 level due to his intangibles, defensive ability, and will to win, Nau is having a big senior season, averaging around 20 points and five assists per game for the Lancers.
Brian Parzych Brian Parzych 6'2" | PG Wauwautosa East | 2021 State WI – 2021 – G – Wauwatosa East
Wauwatosa East made its move in the second half against Brookfield Central behind Parzych. Once the Northern Michigan commit opted to really assert himself offensively, the Red Raiders began to pull away. Parzych had a number of consecutive dimes that flipped the momentum in the second half. A high-energy, do-it-all guard, Parzych also had a huge hustle play, ripping away a rebound from a Central play and then out letting the ball for a fast break bucket. Even though there’s not a ton of room for him to move up in the rankings, Parzych’s stock is headed up and he’ll be one of the top Division 2 prospects on our list, maybe even ahead of a few D1 guys based on the way he’s played this season.
Cayden Rankin Cayden Rankin 6'7" | SF Darlington | 2021 State WI – 2021 – F – Darlington
A sleeper I didn’t know about, but will be ranked after this season, Rankin is an exciting talent. Small school programs definitely want to check out this intriguing forward. At 6-foot-7, Rankin plays a lot of point guard for the Redbirds. He’s probably not quick enough to assume that role at the college level, but was impressive nonetheless. Rankin showed a lot of flashes shooting the ball from the outside off the dribble and taking it to the rim. He’s also a versatile defender with some explosive athleticism on that end. Rankin can guard 1-through-5 against most teams in thee state. Rankin did a little bit of everything in Monday’s loss to Monroe, tallying 10 points, 6 rebounds, 3 steals, 3 blocks, and an assist.
Marshawn Robinson Marshawn Robinson 6'3" | SG Waukesha South | 2022 State WI – 2022 – SG – Waukesha South
Robinson had 10 points and four assists in a loss to Oconomowoc. Waukesha South plays a methodical style, so don’t pay too much attention to individual statistical numbers — Robinson can flat out play. The junior guard has one of the best isolation scoring packages in the state. He can size people up and simply go to work at the top of the key or on the wing. Needs to not settle for shots as much and score more at the rim, but Robinson has a deadly rise-up jumper from deep mid or 3-point range. An athletic, two-way player, Robinson is a very underrated on-ball defender who plays physical without fouling and creates turnovers. He might not be a household name in the state, but Robinson is going to stay in the top 25 heading into the spring.
Andrew Rohde Andrew Rohde 6'6" | SG Brookfield Central | 2022 State WI – 2022 – SG – Brookfield Central
He scored all of his points in the first half, but I really liked what Rohde was able to do in a high-level contest against Wauwatosa East. His team was struggling a bit early and it was Rohde who kept the Lancers within striking distance throughout the first half with 12 points. The 6-foot-4 sniper looked very calm and made some difficult shots look easy. Rohde hit two smooth triples, one of which was a face-up from a few feet past the arc. Rohde used his length really well in the 8-10 foot range, getting into the paint, coming to a jump stop, and floating shots over defenders. Rohde’s defense will often get overlooked as well. Don’t forget, he earned big minutes on a loaded Lancer squad last season with his blue-collar mentality on that end of the floor.
Alex Singleton Alex Singleton 6'4" | PF Wauwatosa East | 2021 State WI – 2021 – F – Wauwatosa East
Wauwatosa East continues to be very balanced and got contributions from everywhere. It can be hard to single guys out at times, but Singleton continues to be a constant for the Red Raiders. On the road, in a huge game against Brookfield Central, Singleton delivered once again. The senior forward scored 17 points and made a handful of game-changing hustle plays — steals, offensive rebounds, etc. Said this before, I’ll say it again, Singleton may not have prototypical positional size and an unorthodox skill set, but he’s a guy I’d take on my team no questions asked.
