Breakdown of the top individual performances from the back end of the week...
Luke Bara
LukeBara6'1" | CGMuskego | 2021StateWI - 2021 - G - Muskego
Bara remains one of the most underrated players in the senior class. He vaulted himself way up the next rankings update with Friday’s performance against Waukesha West. Bara scored a game-high 24 points, and if you ask him, that probably should have been above 30. Bara is one of the most unique guards in the state. He has a rare ability to pull-up and shoot from distance in transition. The 6-foot-1 guard can play fast, but not out of control. With one of the quickest first steps in the state, Bara has blow-by ability on the ball and just toys with defenders at times, keeping them guessing between dribble drives and step-back jumpers. With the ball on a string, Bara can play very low to the ground, keep his feet, and rise up over defenders. What gets lost as well is how much attention he commands from opposing defenses, which Bara feasts on as well. Muskego does a great job of spreading the floor for Bara, knowing 2-3 help defenders are going to be in the paint.

Colton DeBauch - 2021 - SF - Waukesha West
Muskego had no answer for DeBauch on Friday. With
Cameron Palesse
CameronPalesse6'3" | CGWaukesha West | 2021State#249NationWI in foul trouble, Waukesha West rode DeBauch for a large chunk of the second half. The 6-foot-4 senior is an excellent post-up threat and created matchup problems all game long. DeBauch has a deadly jump hook that defenders can’t bother and DeBauch went to that constantly. Contributing 18 points on an efficient 9-of-13 shooting and also doing a great job on the glass (15 rebounds), DeBauch was a big x-factor for the Wolverines, who stayed atop the Classic Eight standings.
Jay Hinson
JayHinson6'3" | CGWauwatosa East | 2021StateWI Jr. - 2021 - SG - Wauwatosa East
Thought Hinson quietly had a nice performance against Pewaukee. The senior guard scored six points, but two of his buckets were very timely in the second half, including a key putback that all but sealed the deal for the Red Raiders. Hinson also played strong on-ball defense and took a charge, which paid dividends in a game that was a low scoring slugfest throughout. One of the top available guards in the state, Hinson is an intriguing Division 3 prospect. He looks the part physically as a prototypical two-guard, can shoot the rock, attack the rim, gets the job done on defense, and rebounds well for his position as well.
Ashton Janowski
AshtonJanowski6'2" | CGPewaukee | 2022StateWI - 2022 - PG - Pewaukee
Janowski had a terrific first half as Pewaukee went into the locker room leading by nine against Wauwatosa East. Although the Pirates couldn’t finish the job, Janowski was solid in this high-level contest. Janowski scored 11 of his 13 points in the first half. Arguably the best mid-range shooter in the state, Janowski took advantage of a Tosa East squad that switched everything defensively, taking defenders off the bounce and creating space in the 16-18 foot range. Janowski is good at selling drives and hitting step-back jumpers or knocking down shots while fading away from the basket. When the Red Raiders went zone in the second half, Janowski didn’t have the same effect, but did a good job of hitting gaps, drawing defenders, and giving his teammates opportunities to make plays.
Cal KrohnCalKrohn6'6" | SFWaukesha West | 2022StateWI - 2022 - SF - Waukesha West
Krohn got off to a fast start with seven quick points as Waukesha West jumped all over Muskego. Krohn finished with 17 in the win. A floor spacer, Krohn is a reliable catch and shoot threat from the perimeter. The 6-foot-6 junior has a very smooth and confident stroke. Krohn also grabbed nine rebounds and dished out three assists on Friday. While he’s known more for his shooting, Krohn had some scrappy, effort plays for the Wolverines, who needed every bit of it down the stretch.
Emmett Loew
EmmettLoew5'10" | SGPewaukee | 2022StateWI - 2022 - G - Pewaukee
Loew gave Pewaukee some great minutes off the bench. Despite the loss, the junior guard provided a spark in a low scoring fistfight. Loew can fluster ball handlers by getting into their shorts and making them work up and down the floor. Loew is a high energy, willing defender that can turn up the pressure without fouling. Loew also took a charge late in the first half that was the end of a very strong Pewaukee run. Due to the Pirates’ wealth of talent, Loew won’t put up big numbers, but he’s a capable outside shooter who’s also improved with his ability to get into the paint and score in the 10-12 foot range.
Cameron Palesse
CameronPalesse6'3" | CGWaukesha West | 2021State#249NationWI - 2021 - G - Waukesha West
Palesse has always been a great mid-range scorer, but he’s gotten even better during his senior season. The Valparaiso commit was so good all night against Muskego, setting defenders up with a hesitation dribble or getting them leaning one way before coming back the other. Palesse, who battled foul trouble, still scored 20 points, including two huge buckets down the stretch to help Waukesha West come out on top. Palesse also had some terrific defensive sequences, including a block on the last Muskego possession, hunting down a 3-point shooter and sending it back with authority. A strong mid-major prospect, Palesse appears to be on par with the likes of

Brian Parzych
BrianParzych5'10" | CGWauwatosa East | 2021StateWI - 2021 - G - Wauwatosa East
With Tosa East trailing by nine at the half, Parzcyh came out of the locker room with a purpose. Scoring 10 quick points out of the gate, Parzych rallied the Red Raiders to a big win over a terrific Pewaukee squad. The Northern Michigan commit scored 16 of his 18 points after halftime. Parzych took advantage of switches on screens, getting a big on him and shooting over the top of a defender sagging off. As always, Parzych came through with some hustle plays, including a steal and score and a charge. A player that exudes energy from tipoff to the final horn, Parzych’s teammates once again fed off their senior point guard.
