He looked good early with an offensive rebound put-back. Gavin finished great around the rim tonight. He had multiple blocked shots, including a huge one late in the game. I was impressed with his great feet tonight and his mature post moves. Overall, his post defense was excellent in the game. Gavin made a great series of plays in the game. The first was a 2-handed lob dunk off a BLOB. The next play on defense he matched that with a blocked shot. This is the best I have seen Gavin play this year.
2. Jaiden Peraza Jaiden Peraza 6'5" | SF Kindred | 2022 State ND (2022) |6-4 F| Kindred – 13 points in the game. Jaiden had 3 two-handed slam dunks in the game. The first was an offensive rebound put-back dunk and the last one was a thunderous dunk after a steal in overtime. He looked good in the first half in the screen-and-roll game. Jaiden is a strong gifted athlete. He is an exceptional physical rebounder. I was impressed with his quick baseline drive and finish in the first half. Jaiden had a big-time post up and finish in the 4th quarter when the Vikings needed a basket. His length and athleticism make him a solid defender.
3. Jake Deutsch Jake Deutsch 6'1" | SG Central Cass | 2022 State ND (2022) |5-11 G| Central Cass – 14 points in the game with four 3-pointers. Jake was aggressive driving and shooting tonight. I was impressed with his quickness and his ballhandling tonight. He showed that he is a capable shooter for 3-point land.
4. Paul Olson Paul Olson 6'3" | SF Kindred | 2022 State ND (2022) (6-4 G| Kindred – 13 points with 11 of them in the 4th quarter, 2-3 on FT’s. and one triple. Paul went 2-2 on free throws in overtime. He had a monstrous fourth quarter. If Paul would not have erupted late the Vikings would not have made the comeback happen. His 3-pointer from the corner was clutch as Kindred was closing the gap. I was impressed with his cut and basket in the 4th quarter off a BLOB.
5. Sam Kobbervig Sam Kobbervig 6'3" | SG Central Cass | 2023 State ND (2023) |6-1 G| Central Cass – 12 points, 1-2 from the line, and one triple. I was impressed with his hesitation move. Sam had a great backdoor cut for a layup. I liked his corner 3-pointer in the first half. He has a great 15-foot jump-shot. Sam had a big-time bucket in the 4th quarter when both teams were trading buckets back and forth.
6. Josh Dixon (2021) |6-5 F| Central Cass – 10 points, 1-2 on FTs, and one triple. He showed off his smooth 15-foot jump shot early in the game and once in overtime. Josh is aggressive off the bounce. He is a great rebounder. I was impressed with his head and shot fake tonight.
7. Max McQuillan Max McQuillan 6'5" | SG Kindred | 2022 State ND (2022) |6-5 G| Kindred – 8 points in the game and 2-4 from the line. He handled the ball a ton tonight. I like his ability to get to the rim. He had some impressive outlet passes in transition. Max made a great spin-move, and he finished the play through contact with a layup. He had a crucial post-up bucket in overtime. Max also had a steal in overtime to help seal the victory.
8. Carter Vrchota (2024) |6-0 G| Central Cass – 6 points in the game, with two triples. The fearless freshmen knocked down shots again tonight. Carter does not play a ton of minutes, but whenever he is playing he seems to produce.
9. Ethan McKenney (2021) |6-4 F| Kindred – 4 points in the game. Ethan had an impressive offensive rebound put back in the first half. He is a great role player that works hard and hustles all over the court.
10. Max Kobbervig Max Kobbervig 5'10" | PG Central Cass | 2021 State ND (2021) |5-10 G| Central Cass – 3 points with 1 triple. He runs the show for the Squirrels and does a good job of getting things started for them. Max is a solid fundamental player with a nice-looking shot.
