Who grabbed headlines with an excellent weekend of basketball in South Dakota? Here is PHD”s Week Starting Five! 

Cael LundinCaelLundin6'2" | SGTea | 2022StateSD of Tea Area (6’2 Guard, Jr). Tea Area faced the toughest schedule in the state to being their year.  They played four of the top five teams in Class A, and lost to all four.  Since that point they’ve won four straight games most recently beating Canton.  Leading the way with an explosive 17 point stretch on his own, was Cael LundinCaelLundin6'2" | SGTea | 2022StateSD.  The end result was a 30 point night with four boards and four assists. 

Ethan RussellEthanRussell6'4" | SFGreat Plains Lutheran | 2023StateSD of Aberdeen Christian (6’5 Forward, Soph).  The Knights are currently on a six game winning streak including an important pair of wins this weekend.  They knocked off Potter County in a big victory and less than 24 hours later defeated Leola/Frederick Area earning a spot in our Class B top ten at 10th in the state.  Ethan RussellEthanRussell6'4" | SFGreat Plains Lutheran | 2023StateSD played a huge part in this with a combined 42 points and 15 rebounds in the victories.  Russell scored 20 and 22 respectively over the weekend.
