Point Guard
Kelton Vincent Kelton Vincent 6'0" | PG Sioux Valley | 2021 State SD of Sioux Valley/Pentagon Schoolers (6’0 PG). Vincent’s ability to pace a game and deliver on time for high percentage shots is rare. His feel for the game is at a level few can match. Type of player that can be plugged and trusted. One of the more enjoyable players to watch because he makes sure his team executes.
Tyce Ortman Tyce Ortman 5'11" | PG Canistota | 2021 State SD n of Canistota (5’11 PG). Tyce just committed to play football for Northwestern College and congrats Tyce on that! But that’s not about to stop us from telling you how good he’s looked on the basketball court. Ortman’s ability to get to space and then lift into scoring position is one of the toughest things to guard in the state. Just had a 34 point game.
Drayton Priebe Drayton Priebe 6'1" | PG Chamberlain | 2021 State SD of Chamberlain (6’1 PG). Priebe’s ability to beat the first defender and then get a look at the rim before the help defenders close has us thinking he is going to be a coveted college basketball player. He’s exploded for 10, 12 makes a game as of late as teams simply aren’t able to get a guy in front of him that can limit Drayton’s attack.
Shooting Guard
Surafel Berhanie of Sioux Falls Lincoln (6’3 SG). One of the stories of the season has been Surafel’s breakthrough into a main event player for Lincoln. At the guard position Berhanie is shooting a high percentage at the arc and putting up 20 a game efficiently scoring going to the rim.
Xavier Van Beek Xavier Van Beek 6'0" | SG Sf Christian | 2021 State SD of Sioux Falls Christian/South Dakota Attack (6’0 SG). Few players are as hot from the field right now as Xavier. The Dordt committed guard has had a couple five plus three-point make games in the past couple weeks but he’s more than a shooter. He’s highly intelligent putting the ball on the deck.
Akok Aguer of Sioux Falls Washington/Bartlett Force (6’2). Few are putting the ball on the deck and getting to the rim like Akok is right now. The Washington guard has a quick first step that rotating defenders can’t get to, and his quick bounce couples with a lift that few players can match leading to high percentage finishes, sometimes in highlight ways.
Big Wing
Micah Swallow Micah Swallow 6'3" | SG Rapid City Central | 2021 State SD of Rapid City Central/Sacred Hoops (6’3 SG). Swallow is a strong guard that uses his strength to complete at the rim but he’s also the type of playmaker that can get to his help to contest a shot quick, he jumps passing lanes like a Pro Bowl defensive back, and he’s led his team to an 8-3 record so far this year.
Koor Kuol Koor Kuol 6'4" | SF SF Roosevelt | 2021 State SD of Sioux Falls Roosevelt/Bartlett Force (6’4 SF). Offensively he’s a slasher that has become more comfortable with both the dribble attack and the lift to finish. Defensively his lateral speed, length, and quickness make him a ball pressure menace.
Tisyn Spader Tisyn Spader 6'4" | SF Howard | 2021 State SD of Howard/Sacred Hoops (6’4 SF). Spader’s versatility is what has caught my eye. He’s created shots for others, defensively impacts game on the ball and in help, and is a very good rebounder for his position. Impacts the game in so many ways.
Frontcourt
Zane Alm Zane Alm 6'11" | C Mitchell | 2021 State SD of Mitchell/Pentagon Schoolers (6’10 C). Alm has become one of the five best prospects in the senior class and maybe one of the five most productive players in the senior class. He’s a great passer for a frontcourt player and his agility gets his length to good defensive positions regularly. His ceiling is very high. Just think of how far he has come from last year.
Sam Aslesen Sam Aslesen 6'7" | SF Howard | 2021 State SD of Howard/Sacred Hoops (6’7 Forward). Sam’s versatility is what makes him so attractive to the DWU future on the court. He can play near the rim and be productive but step away and be a playmaker or a face-up four knocking shots over players that can’t move with his skill away from the cup.
Hayden Muirhead Hayden Muirhead 6'7" | PF SF O'Gorman | 2021 State SD of Harrisburg/South Dakota Network (6’9 PF). Hayden’s explosion to the basket is something that you just don’t find commonly. He gets off his feet to board, contest, block shots, or finish better than just about anybody. He’s also a high academic talent so there is a lot to he can offer to a program that others can’t.
