The best game of the coming week is Four Winds/Minnewaukan at Langdon/Edmore/Munich. The winner of that game will be the favorite to win Region 4. Make sure you are paying attention; we only have one week of basketball left in the month of January.
Here are the ND Class B Power Rankings, a list of #1 to 10.
1. Enderlin – 9-1. The Eagles had a scare at Northern Cass this week, but they persevered and came away with a tight win. Enderlin plays Maple Valley and LaMoure/Litchville-Marion coming up. Joe Hurlburt Joe Hurlburt 6'10" | PF Enderlin | 2022 State #147 Nation MN is averaging 24.6 ppg. 15.7, and 4.3 apg. Gus Hurlburt Gus Hurlburt 6'9" | PF Enderlin | 2022 State ND is averaging 16.3 ppg, 6.1 rpg, and 2.1 apg.
2. Four Winds/Minnewaukan – 9-1. The Indians had a busy week and picked up three wins. This coming Tuesday they have the best game of the week in ND with a matchup against Langdon/Edmore/Munich who is undefeated. They end the week with a game at home against Dakota Prairie. Four Winds might be the most talented team in Class B from top to bottom.
3. Dickinson Trinity – 12-1. The Titans had two monster blowout wins this week. They are currently on an 8-game win streak. Trinity only has one game this coming week at Heart River. I expect the Titans to continue their winning ways in the upcoming week.
4. Langdon/Edmore/Munich – 9-0. The undefeated Cardinals had a momentous 3-point victory over Dunseith on Tuesday. Thursday, they kept things rolling with a 22-point win over Rolla. This coming Tuesday they have a heavyweight Region 4 matchup at home against Four Winds/Minnewaukan. On Friday they travel to North Star/Starkweather and finish the week on Saturday at home vs. New Rockford-Sheyenne. Grant Romfo Grant Romfo 6'1" | SF Langdon/Edmore/Munich | 2021 State ND and Simon Romfo Simon Romfo 6'1" | SG Langfond-Edmore-Munich | 2021 State ND are the leaders for the Cardinals.
5. Ellendale – 10-1. The Cardinals are still undefeated against North Dakota opponents. They picked up a pair of wins this past week. Coming up they play Friday and Saturday at home vs. Barnes County North and Lisbon. Scott Wagner Scott Wagner 6'8" | C Ellendale | 2022 State ND is the big-man and double-double machine for Ellendale.
6. Grafton/St. Thomas – 10-1. This week the Spoilers had a large margin win over Larimore and an 11-point win yesterday over a tough Kindred team. Grafton only has one game this coming week and it is on the road at May-Port CG. The Spoilers are a dangerous team with 4 skilled guards in Stevan Garza Stevan Garza 6'2" | SG Grafton | 2021 State ND , Justin Garza Justin Garza 5'11" | SG Grafton | 2021 State ND , Luis Balderas Jr., and Brandon Albrecht Brandon Albrecht 6'1" | SG Grafton | 2021 State ND . Inside they have William Jiskra who is a solid rebounder and tough defender.
7. Central Cass – 9-1. The Squirrels played once this week against a quality Linton/HMB at the Jamestown Civic Center. Central Cass won the game by 5 points. Max Kobbervig Max Kobbervig 5'10" | PG Central Cass | 2021 State ND led the Squirrels in that game with 20 points and six 3-pointers. Sam Kobbervig Sam Kobbervig 6'3" | SG Central Cass | 2023 State ND also had a nice game with 14 points, two 3-pointers, and 2-2 from the line. This coming week the Squirrels hit the road and play at Richland, Kindred, and Hillsboro/Central Valley.
8. Edgeley/Kulm/Montpelier – 9-1. The Rebels had a nice week with wins over Barnes County North and a tough Oakes team. Upcoming, the Rebels have a difficult game on Tuesday vs. Linton/HMB. They finish the week with matchups against South Border and Griggs-Midkota. Alex Huber Alex Huber 6'6" | SF Edgeley/Kulm/Montpelier | 2021 State ND looks to be an All-Region player for the Rebels.
9. Dunseith – 7-1. The Dragons had a nail-biting loss to Langdon by 3 on Tuesday. On Friday they beat Westhope/Newburg by 2 points. This coming Tuesday they play at Kenmare. The Dragons have a skilled group of players with Caleb Poitra Caleb Poitra 6'1" | SF Dunseith | 2021 State ND , Ethan Morin Ethan Morin 6'2" | SG Dunseith | 2022 State ND , Liam Poitra, Jalen Poitra, and Chad Parisien.
10. Powers Lake – 9-1. The Ranchers went 2-1 this week with wins over Tioga and Kenmare. Yesterday they lost on the road to a tough Shiloh Christian team. The Ranchers have two games this coming week against Divide County and Lewis and Clark – North Shore. This exciting team has a talented backcourt with Noah Fredrickson Noah Fredrickson 6'0" | SG Powers Lake | 2021 State ND and Tyson Enget Tyson Enget 5'11" | PG Powers Lake-Burke Central | 2023 State ND .
