Here are the ND Class A Power Rankings, a list of #1 to 5.
1. West Fargo Sheyenne – 13-1. The Mustangs had one game this week and they upset the #1 team in the state and their rival to the North, the West Fargo Packers. Sheyenne was impressive in the win scoring 87 points and winning by 6 points. The Mustangs only had only 5 turnovers in the game, and they secured their 13th straight victory, a new school record! Sheyenne has the best and biggest frontcourt in North Dakota with Jacksen Moni Jacksen Moni 6'9" | PF West Fargo Sheyenne | 2021 State ND , Jah’Heem Leake Jah’Heem Leake 6'8" | C West Fargo Sheyenne | 2021 State ND , and Dominic Dosmann. Those three big-men are aided by three deadly 3-point shooters in Gage Anderson Gage Anderson 5'10" | PG West Fargo Sheyenne | 2021 State ND , Ben Manson Ben Manson 6'2" | SG West Fargo Sheyenne | 2021 State ND , and Michael Nhial Michael Nhial 6'7" | SF West Fargo Sheyenne | 2022 State ND . This coming week Sheyenne has a big matchup with Davies on Tuesday, and they finish the week at home on Friday against Devils Lake.
2. West Fargo – 11-1. The Packers had a very busy week with three games. They picked up two wins over Devils Lake and Grand Forks Central. They lost to their rival by 6 yesterday in a high-octane thriller, Joel Pease Joel Pease 6'5" | SF West Fargo | 2021 State ND had a game-high 23 points. Coming up the Packers play North on Tuesday and Davies on Friday. West Fargo is led by point-guard Brett Limke Brett Limke 6'1" | PG West Fargo | 2022 State ND who is a floor general and an excellent shooter from deep. They have stud athlete Carson Hegerle Carson Hegerle 6'3" | SG West Fargo | 2022 State ND on the wing who can score from all over the court. Joel Pease Joel Pease 6'5" | SF West Fargo | 2021 State ND is their stretch-four who has been an emerging star as of late. Lastly, they have Carter Birrenkott Carter Birrenkott 6'5" | PF West Fargo | 2021 State ND who is their big-man, beast, and double-double machine. Let us hope the Packers and Mustangs play again in March.
3. Minot – 12-1. The Magi had a very nice week with an 8-point road win against Bismarck and a 15-point victory over Bismarck St. Mary’s on Friday. Minot has emerged as the best team in the WDA up to this point. This coming week they stay home with games against Turtle Mountain and Bismarck Century. Minot is led by All-State point-guard Deonte Martinez Deonte Martinez 5'10" | PG Minot | 2021 State ND who is a lock-down defender. He has a great mid-range jumper accompanied by great quickness and explosiveness. Deonte is complimented by two accomplished scorers Eric Wentz Eric Wentz 6'2" | SG Minot | 2022 State ND and Darik Dissette Darik Dissette 6'4" | SG Minot | 2023 State #300 Nation ND .
4. Jamestown – 10-2. The Blue Jays only played one game this week and they won by 12 points. They made the long road trip to Dickinson and came away with the victory on Friday night. This coming week the Blue Jays stay home with games on Tuesday and Saturday against Bismarck/Turtle Mountain. The game on Tuesday against Bismarck is a huge matchup and the winner will be in the driver’s seat for the #2 seed. Carson Lamp Carson Lamp 6'0" | SG Jamestown | 2021 State ND is the go-to guard for Jamestown. He can score from all levels, he is a tough competitor, and he makes others around him better.
5. Bismarck High – 11-3. The Demons had a tough home loss to Minot on Tuesday 84-76. The wild part is that Bismarck beat Minot on its home court earlier in the season by the same sore 84-76. Talk about ironic! After the loss, the Demons bounced back with blowout wins over Williston and Watford City. Coming up they play Jamestown on Tuesday and Dickinson on Friday. The Jamestown matchup is an important game for Bismarck if they want to secure the #2 seed before tournament time. Treysen Eaglestaff Treysen Eaglestaff 6'5" | SF Bismark | 2022 State ND is the leading scorer for the Demons who is averaging well over 20 points a game. He has been putting up All-State performances on a nightly basis.
