Two exceptionally talented squads met up and it ended in dramatic fashion as Limitless won on a Bryce Moore Bryce Moore 6'5" | PG Carmel | 2022 State IL put back at the buzzer. Here is our recap in Rock N Ball Championship: Limitless vs Illinois Hoopstars.
Conor Enright Conor Enright 6'1" | PG Mundelein | 2021 State IL (Mundelein – 2021)
The future Drake floor general was consistent each time out at Rock N Ball and was excellent once again. The scrappy lead guard does a great job of changing gears and is a shot maker. Knocked in several pull ups from mid-range and three. Active hands on D getting steals and pushes the other way for buckets.
Scottie Ebube Scottie Ebube 6'7" | C Mundelein | 2021 State #247 Nation IL (Mundelein – 2021)
Ebube is headed to Southern Illinois next season. Physically built five that has a college ready body. He is an intimidating presence on the defensive end with how well he rebounds in his area while also being a quality shot blocker. Offensively he plays very physical and with power inside. Seals off his man, finishes dump offs, hits the glass for second chance points, and throws down dunks in the pick/roll.
Kimahri Wilson Kimahri Wilson 6'2" | PG North Chicago | 2021 State IL (Carmel – 2021)
Wilson is an exciting playmaking guard with a wiry build. Turns it over at times, but also has home run potential. Wilson plays with a high-motor and athleticism finishing in the paint. Knocked in two big free throws to tie it late. JUCO gem.
Bryce Moore Bryce Moore 6'5" | PG Carmel | 2022 State IL (Carmel – 2022)
Long and rangy junior guard had the defining moment of the game with a tip in off a Wilson miss for the championship clinching put back. That is nothing new as he is an incredibly good rebounding guard that flies in from the perimeter for put backs on the regular. Had three of them in this game. Capable shooter knocking in a mid-range shot and a wing three. Solid wing defender that puts pressure on the ball.
Will Grudzinski Will Grudzinski 6'6" | PF Barrington | 2022 State IL (Barrington – 2022)
Good size, strength, and skill combination here with this 2022 wing. He can let it fly from the perimeter with his ability to knock down threes off the catch. Brings some grit to the table as well.
Ty Johnson Ty Johnson 6'3" | PG Depaul Prep | 2021 State #198 Nation IL (DePaul Prep – 2021)
Johnson is a top 10 senior who is headed to Loyola next season. Ultra smooth guard made plays all over the floor. Deep range on his three point shot was evident on several occasions especially on one super deep triple from beyond the volleyball line. Hit four from the land of three in the game with a quick release. Manipulates ball screens and has a good feel for getting to the rim/foul line off the bounce.
Freddie Cooper Freddie Cooper 6'4" | SG Corliss | 2021 State IL (Corliss – 2021)
Cooper was the breakout player of the championship game. Recently moved into the PHI Top 200 at #181 and that isn’t nearly high enough after this performance. The athletic 6’3” two guard had a huge dunk in transition, drilled several jumpers including threes, and overall played with supreme confidence in a pressure packed game. Small colleges and JUCO’s need to dive all in now!
Donovan Jones Donovan Jones 6'0" | PG Solorio | 2022 IL (Solorio – 2022)
The Solorio big bodied combo guard had his moments in this game. Couple strong drives where he was either fouled or got the bucket. Flashed as a passer including a nice lob.
Justin Mullins Justin Mullins 6'4" | SF Oak Park-River Forest | 2022 State IL (OPRF – 2022)
Mullins is an intriguing junior wing that has projectability with his size. Plays well in the open floor as a finisher, can knock down a 15 foot shot, and is active on the glass. Should grow into a nice defender down the line checking multiple positions.
