Casey JonesCaseyJones6'6" | SFWasatch Academy | 2021UT, a senior forward at Wasatch Academy, was called into action a bit earlier than expected during his team’s win over La Lumiere on Friday. His teammate, Houston commit Robbie ArmbresterRobbieArmbrester6'5" | SFWasatch Academy | 2021State#196NationUT, suffered an injury on the very first play and could not continue. Jones came in ready to play. He made an immediate difference, particularly defensively and on the glass. Listed at 6-foot-6, 210 pounds, Jones was undersized against a towering front line, but was not fazed at all.

“Usually those big guys are a little soft,” Jones told Prep Hoops during his postgame interview. “Hit them a little bit, they don’t really like it. So, It’s pretty easy to defend those bigger guys when you can get under their skin.”

A self-proclaimed slasher who enjoys doing the dirty work, Jones mentioned that his mental toughness is probably the most underrated part of his overall game. He prides himself on making plays that others usually won’t.

“I’ll block a shot for you. Dive on the floor,” he said. “I can score the ball too, but that’s something I definitely have been working on lately. My ball-handling is probably the most improved part of my game and my shot has gotten a lot better.”

The Seattle native holds a Division 1 offer from Eastern Washington. Pepperdine, BYU, and Idaho are among several other schools who are showing interest. What is Jones looking for in a school?

“Someone that is going to play team ball, run the floor, work together, and be a family.”
