Varnum is one of the best teams in all of small school Oklahoma. Since winter break, they have grabbed two top ten wins in the class above them. They are experienced, balanced and talented and have a great shot at a gold ball. Roff is right behind Varnum, as they’ve been hot the entire year as well. Duke is also undefeated after losing lots of talent last year, as their young squad continues to impress. Lomega, along with Red Oak and Leedey, has one loss and all three teams have positioned themselves nicely with February right around the corner. While Varnum and Roff are the clear cut favorites, each team in this top ten could make a run. Class A is very talented this season.
Class A Rankings:
- Hydro-Eakly
- Fort Cobb
- Calumet
- Stuart
- Arapaho-Butler
- Garber
- Caddo
- Vanoss
- Canute
- Snyder
A new face at the top of the rankings in Class A. Hydro-Eakly has been extremely impressive this year. Their early win against CHA looks better and better as CHA has continued to battle for a top spot in 3A. Fort Cobb has been dominant, too, as they have yet to lose a game. Both teams at the top of Class A are fantastic teams and basketball fans should hope to see that matchup soon. Calumet doesn’t seem to be getting the love they deserve, as they are a top team in their own right. They have gone undefeated while putting together an impressive resume, including a win over #5. Arapaho-Butler, Stuart and Garber are all teams that could make a run, as they have experience and are used to winning. Look out for Canute as they are my surprise team. Canute only has one loss on the year and have proven that they can win defensive games.
