Here’s an update on how they are progressing in a time when it’s difficult for some players to gain traction because of the circumstances we face today.
Aidan Mahaney Aidan Mahaney 6'3" | PG Campolindo | 2022 State #71 Nation CA-N 6’3 Pt Guard Campolindo HS, Team Grr!!
It’s really not that difficult to see why Mahaney is a next level recruit, and one of NorCal’s top prospects in 2022. His knowledge and understanding of the game raises the level of his teammates play. His ability to run a team, decision making, and scoring when needed is the reason why the teams he plays on win more often than not.
Miles Byrd Miles Byrd 6'6" | SF Lincoln | 2022 State #174 Nation CA-N 6’6, Forward, Lincoln HS, Port City
Byrd rejoined his high school teammates after playing with Prolific Select over the summer. Like many good players he quickly adjusted and showed why he’s one of the more touted prospects in 2022. He’s long and rangy with a good skill set. He bring a versatile game. On offense he’s capable of playing all five positions, though he’s at his best on the wings, handling, passing, and spotting up somewhere. He has the length to disrupt shots, and passes, on defense in the post or in passing lanes
CJ McMillan 6’6 Power Forward, Capital Christian HS, Cap City Cougars
McMillan is becoming a force 15ft and in. His aggressive nature on the court, along with his big body is a problem. At this level you’ll have to double team him. His conditioning needs to improve, but there’s no questioning his effort. He can score with good low post moves, and he’s effective playing the high post where he sees shooters, and cutters, plus he can hit the jumper, and attack the from there. It’s hard to back him down on the low block.
Andre Warren Andre Warren 6'3" | CG Lincoln Stockton | 2022 State CA-N 6’3 Guard, Lincoln HS Stockton, Port City 17
Warren merits consideration as a rising prospect in this 2022 class. He’s shown he can be a tough defender in the post often giving up considerable size, and holding his own, while he battles for rebounds, which makes him a good rebounding guard. As mentioned before he is at his best when he’s able to get out in the open court, he’ll sprint to fill the lanes, but he’s also shown an ability to lead the transition break with vision, and exceptionable passing skills. Warren can knock down 3’s, drive it hard the basket, and poses a nice mid-range shot.
James Freeman James Freeman 6'4" | SF Capital Christian | 2022 NV 6’5 Forward, Capital Christian HS, Cap City Cougars.
A rising prospect in this 2022 class, Freeman is one of those high flyers who’ll dunk anything if he and ball meet anywhere around the rim. With that being said for him to take his game to another level he’s going to have to improve his skill set away from the basket. Developing a good jump shot, beating his man off the dribble is a good start. He’s a good passer, he’ll get a good amount of rebounds, and he’s got good foot speed to guard multiple positions out on the perimeter.
