Jalen Carlino Jalen Carlino 6'0" | PG Kenosha Bradford | 2022 State WI (5’11 2022 PG, Kenosha Bradford)- Jalen Carlino Jalen Carlino 6'0" | PG Kenosha Bradford | 2022 State WI just continues to produce at a high level this season. Last year he was among the conference leader in assists, and now he’s become one of the conference’s best scorers as well. In a highly anticipated matchup against Racine Case, Carlino took over with his quickness and outside shooting touch, getting to his spots off the dribble before pulling-up with his quick release. His confidence is at an all time high this year, as he’s knocking down tough contested jumpers, as well as pulling up from mid-range in transition. Don’t let his smaller stature fool you, as Jalen put up 25 points on 9-12 shooting while dishing out 5 assists and recording 3 steals against a tough Racine Case team. Currently averaging 20.6 points and 4.0 assists through five games.
Calvin Hunter (5’10 2021 G, Racine St. Catherine’s)- A deep sleeper in the 2021 class who doesn’t get a lot of attention playing alongside three scholarship level guards, Calvin made his presence felt in a win over Shoreland Lutheran. With Tyrese Hunter Tyrese Hunter 5'11" | PG Racine St. Catherine's | 2021 State #63 Nation WI out with an injury, Calvin stepped up by dropping 26 points. The lefty guard posed a threat from beyond the arc, but also got in some nice one dribble pull-ups from mid-range, getting nice elevation in the process. At 5’10 he has elite quickness and the necessary strength to defend against longer players, and he excelled at jumping in passing lanes to create steals in Monday’s win.
Quentin Bolton Quentin Bolton 6'5" | SF Shoreland Lutheran | 2021 State WI Jr (6’6 2021 SF, Shoreland Lutheran)- With some D2 and some Juco offers on the table, there’s a lot to like about Quentin’s potential at the next level. Against Racine St. Cats he was able to score in a variety of ways as he put up 21 points. Quentin is extremely efficient finishing around the rim, and he’s one of the best in the class at creating his own shot from mid-range. His size and elevation make it hard to contest when he looks to score from mid-range, and he’s really good at posting up smaller wings and scoring with his back to the basket using high level footwork or his strength.
Jameer Barker Jameer Barker 6'2" | SG Racine St. Catherine's | 2021 State WI (6’2 2021 SG, Racine St. Catherine’s)- Jameer Barker Jameer Barker 6'2" | SG Racine St. Catherine's | 2021 State WI had a statement game for St. Cats in a win over Shoreland Lutheran, showcasing his full scoring arsenal. He’s so tough physically, and used that to his advantage to power through contact around the rim for some high percentage scores. He knocked down a few threes running off screens before catching and shooting, and then used the threat of his range to open up some driving lanes with a quick shot fake. Due to the talent surrounding him he’s been one of the more under-the-radar scoring talents in the class for the past couple of years, but made his presence felt with 27 points on the night.
Amari Jedkins Amari Jedkins 6'7" | PF Racine Case | 2022 State WI (6’8 2022 F, Racine Case)- The potential in Amari’s first two years playing varsity for Case was obvious, but this season he’s turned that into production. In his first two games Amari is averaging 17 ppg while acting as a rim protector on the defensive end. At 6’8 he has the length to defend in the paint, but also excelled at switching and locking up on the perimeter against smaller guards when needed. On the offensive end he could clean up the glass for second chance points, but really excelled at attacking from the wing where he could get to the rim and finish or kick it out to an open shooter. His improvements in the off-season have also led to him being a threat to shoot from outside or handle the ball the length of the floor in transition.
Trey Cardona (5’10 2021 PG, Kenosha Tremper)- Trey Cardona has been on a tear this season, and that success continued with a close win over Racine Case. Trey is incredibly shifty with the ball in his hands, and excelled at creating space on the perimeter, with a really smooth crossover move into a pull-up from three. Trey was lighting it up from deep, and even hit a couple of heat check threes in the second half when Racine Case was starting to rally. He also did a nice job of getting into the paint and finishing with touch over the top, or going into contact to get to the line. Finished with a game high 27 points in the win.
Adrian Bryant (6’ 2023 G, Racine Case)- Adrian impressed in his varsity debut on Wednesday, and is looking like one of the top 2023 prospects in Racine. A quick guard with toughness on both ends of the floor, Adrian brings a lot of energy for Case. With Case losing their leading scorer from last season as well as a lot of depth, Adrian stepped up as the third scoring option as just a sophomore. He excelled at getting to the rim and finishing through contact, while also being one of the floor stretchers for case by knocking down a few threes on the week. Scored 17 points against Bradford and 11 against Tremper.
