When you have the opportunity to see players grow up on the basketball court you often see some potential that will continue to translate to the next level and the next level. Jaxon has always had that “It” factor on the floor even at a very young age. He has put in a lot of work that has taken him to different places and he has learned a lot on the way and you can see he continues to learn. Jaxon started his high school career at Wasatch Academy playing against and with one of the best teams in the country at the time and those lessons and growth probably came on the practice floor. Jaxon then had a pit stop in Las Vegas and now he is back home at American Fork where he joins a good team that simply gets better.
Jaxon is a unique talent that has multiple Division 1 offers. His game is different. He is a player that can score and he doesn’t have to jump over people or high fly his way to the rim. He can simply score the basketball. Jaxon will be an impact player at the division 1 level because he is super skilled.
Footwork
Jaxon is the king of footwork. He will footwork his defender and the double-team to death. When he catches the ball on the block, he is really good at using both feet to pivot to see the floor and not just to position himself. When you are looking at players that can position themselves on the block or in the pain on duck in’s, he is elite.
Moves
When it comes to moves, Jaxon has a deep bag when it comes to moves and tricks to score. Jaxon knows how to get to his shot regardless of what side of the block he is on. He moves well to position himself. If Jaxon wants to go glass, he side turns and almost hook shot one in off the glass, he can also face-up and go directly off the glass. it really doesn’t matter if he is going over his left shoulder or his right shoulder, he can find a way to get it off the glass. Jaxon can spin cycle a defender as well as he is actually really quick on his spins. The most impressive aspect about his moves is his combo double and triple moves. He has a gift of getting players out of position or in the air.
Outside Game
Jaxon runs the floor really well but he has a respectable outside game. He is ideal in a trail situation because he can hit that trail 3 but he can also get into a drag screen and really cause problems in a pick n’ roll as well. He can dive to the basket and still pull up for a 15-footer. While most of his game is a product of high percentage shots, he can still hit those fifteen-foot jumpers at the top of the key. There are times that he gets pushes off the block and Jaxon really impresses with his one foot fadeaway jump shot. Especially when he has defenders that can match his strength and height.
