Perry Meridian: vs Carmel 1/19
Jayden Taylor Jayden Taylor 6'4" | SG Perry Meridian | 2021 State #224 Nation IN – 6’4 2021 SG: Taylor is a strong and athletic shooting guard. He had a great game here and everything on the offense ran through him, as it should have. His outside shot was hitting and it looked smooth as ever. Game just looks like it comes so easy to him. His upside is great and Butler should be excited to have him coming in. He should make an immediate impact at the college level.
Reggie McDonald Reggie McDonald 5'9" | PG Perry Meridian | 2021 State IN – 6’0 2021 PG: McDonald is an energetic guard who can make a difference in transition. Real fast going north and south and really tries to attack the basket if he can. Looks to have grown a little bit over the years. Had a steal that turned very quickly into a fast break bucket. Overall, McDonald is a very mature player with the right amount of skill to compete. Did not see a whole lot from his jumper but if he has that in his package, he can be a threat.
Carmel: vs Perry Meridian 1/19
Brian Waddell Brian Waddell 6'5" | SF Carmel | 2021 State IN – 6’5 2021 SF: Waddell is a tall wing that plays with a lot of power and athleticism. He was very active all over the court on both ends in the game. Was great on the boards and got down the floor very quickly with his long strides and had one scenario of him having a huge two-handed slam on a fast break. His confidence looked very improved and he was looking to score on the offense a ton. This athletically gifted player has his game looking far more complete than what it was. He is a huge piece for this Carmel squad.
Bryce Beery Bryce Beery 6'2" | PG Carmel | 2021 State IN – 6’1 2021 PG: Beery is a tough guard that brings the energy and grit to the game. Pretty strong build, especially in his upper body. Not a player that is going to score a ton of points, even though he can, but is going to do all the little things that help a team succeed. One of the better defenders for Camel and guards the wing so well. Does his job so well and is a glue type player that every team would want.
Connor Gioia Connor Gioia 5'9" | PG Carmel | 2021 State IN – 5’9 2021 PG: Gioia is a true lead guard that looks to get his teammates involved before anything. On the smaller end but has a lot of toughness to his style of play. Makes great, on cue passes and knows how to find the best opportunity for a score. Capable shooter from the outside as well and makes a defender pay for not guarding him. Just an experienced player that knows how to run an offense.
Charlie Williams Charlie Williams 6'10" | PF Carmel | 2022 State #220 Nation IN – 6’8 2022 PF: Williams is a long, tall forward who is very versatile. Got fed the ball a ton in the post because of his mismatches and took advantage of those for the most part. So soft around the rim and is arguably the best power forward I have seen getting up and down the floor. On defense, his long body and great timing make it tough for the opposing offense to score down low because he is an excellent blocker. For as smart of a player he is, if he can add the strength, he could be very dominant player at the next level.
Peter Suder Peter Suder 6'5" | SG Carmel | 2022 State #227 Nation IN – 6’4 2022 SG: Suder is a big-sized shooting guard that is so skilled at every part of the game. It surprisingly took a while for his offense to get going in the first half. In the second half is where he started to catch fire as he just started making shot after shot because his defense was turning into offense. He is a very aggressive player that looks to outwork anybody on the floor. Has started to get those looks from D1 schools at the next level like Butler, Bradley, and others. Suder is having a breakout junior season right now and has his team playing at a high level.
Sam Orme Sam Orme 6'9" | SF Carmel | 2023 State #196 Nation IN – 6’6 2023 SF: Orme is a long and very lanky stretch 4. This was the first time I had seen Orme and he looked to show flashes of potential. Pretty stoke and plays like your transitional stretch power forward. He comes in right now and causes defense to have fits trying to figure out how to guard him. Adding muscle and strength is going to be a huge for him as he continues to develop his game. Overall, there is some upside to underclassman.
