Jennings County: vs Bedford North Lawrence 1/16
Jacob Vogel – 6’8 2022 PF: Vogel is a big post player with a ton of legit size. He came into this game averaging a near double-double (9.9 pts, 9.6 rbs) and it is easy to see why. Real good at getting in position and backing down a defender. He was battling an ankle injury this game but what I have seen the past he can run the floor well and overall has solid footwork. Only got to see him in the first half but it is not hard to see the potential in Vogel just on his size alone.
Keegan Manowitz – 5’7 2023 PG: Manowitz is shorter lead guard but extremely quick. Sees the floor well and is real aggressive attacking the basket in the halfcourt game. If he gets out in transition there is no catching him at all. Defense looked a ton better than last year when I watched him. However, his jumper is still a little inconsistent so he will need to clean that up a bit. Overall, with his quickness and great decision making, Manowitz is just as tough as they come at the lead guard spot.
Owen Law – 6’0 2023 PG: Law is a taller wing with a smooth outside shot. Has a lot of range on his shot and does a good job in creating space to get his shot off. Noticed that he is much stronger than what he looks like. Good defender as well and had a couple of steals to prove that this game. Came into this game averaging nearly 12 ppg and once he is in rhythm he looks like he could easily light it up. Solid performance from Law overall.
Mitchell: vs Whiteland 1/16
Nick Mundy – 6’0 2022 SF: Mundy is the main guy for the Bluejackets. He is a taller wing that plays aggressive until the final horn. His mid-range shot was hitting and had a nice baseline jumper. He split the defense very well this game and was so strong taking it to the basket. Was just real impressed with how he handled the bigger guards and did not let his smaller size stop his game. Mundy continues to look better and better each game. Finished with 10 points.
Connor Fields – 6’2 2022 SF/PF: Fields had a solid game. Did not score a ton (2 points) but did some good things on both ends. He is a little undersized forward that plays mostly in the post. His loan scoring play was a great dive that missed but he was able to grab it again and put it back in. Rebounded well and is a solid passer.
Kade Wigley – 5’9 2023 CG: Wigley had a great game here. Smaller guard but is so quick and does not let his size hold him back. Mixes up his game well and is just a really nice outside shooter (three 3ps). He was aggressive against Whiteland’s bigger guards and just showed a lot of fight in himself. If he can just continue to get stronger and add muscle, I think he has a chance to play at the next level. He finished with 13 points overall.
Whiteland: vs Mitchell 1/16
Maxwell Sullivan Maxwell Sullivan 6'6" | PF Whiteland | 2022 State IN – 6’6 2022 PF: Sullivan is a big and bruising power forward with legit size and strength. So good when posted up and can stretch the floor a little bit as well. His game looks to have improved and he looks to be a bit more balanced. This game, Mitchell just had no answers for him on both ends. A true inside-out power forward that can be a difference maker in a game. Finished with 17 points overall.
Madison: vs Bedford North Lawrence 1/12
Kaden Oliver Kaden Oliver 6'2" | PG Silver Creek | 2023 State IN – 6’1 2023 PG: Oliver is a taller lead guard with some great handles. Gets to the basket real well and had a nice right-handed drive to start off the game. His offense did go a little quiet this game but he did a good job at getting to the foul line a couple times, even if he did fail to convert a single free-throw 0-4. However, the other times I have seen Oliver play I have been real impressed with him. Plays with a ton a confidence and has shown the ability to make plays and score and dish out the assists. Lot of potential in Oliver. Just needs to work on producing more on the offense. He finished with 2 points.
