Bedford North Lawrence: Bedford Holiday Tournament 12/30 vs Scottsburg
Ben Cosner – 6’3 2021 W/F: This was the best I have seen Cosner play this season. Was real strong crashing the boards and had a couple of aggressive defensive stops in the beginning. In the second half he came out firing it form behind the arc and ended up draining three 3s back-to-back-to-back. Cosner is one of the key x-factors for the Stars. If he is playing well then more than likely this entire team is as well. He ended up with 20 points.
Kooper Staley – 6’2 2021 SG: Staley had a solid game in this one. Started off the game driving it well to the rim with one drive resulting with an And1. Got into foul trouble in the first half but really started picking it up in the second. Started hitting his outside shots and got to the free-throw line, where he is automatic. Since coming off his first two games being shut down, he has really turned up his scoring like everyone thought he would. He finished this game with 11 points.
Jackson Miracle Jackson Miracle 6'5" | SF Bedford North Lawrence | 2021 State IN – 6’5 2021 PF: Miracle might have had his best game so far his season. Ended up with a double-double and was real aggressive on the defensive end. Had a blocked shot and even showed he is willing to step out and shoot it from the outside. Miracle is the key big man for BNL and this game proves that he can be a difference maker for his team on both ends.
Colten Leach – 6’1 2023 G/F: Leach showed why he is one of the best scorers for BNL this game. Ended up with 16 points with all of his points coming from the inside or at the free-throw line. Was arguably BNL’s best defender this game and had a few steals to prove that. If Leach can start to develop his outside jumper, he could really take his game to the next level.
Colton Staggs – 6’1 2023 PG: Staggs is one of the purest lead guards I have seen this season. Very patient and makes very few mistakes with the ball. Already has solid court vision as an underclassman and makes really good passes like his base line bounce pass that resulted in an easy layup for Cosner. Defends well up top and makes it hard for his guy to get by him. Really like Staggs game and think he is going to make a big jump next season.
Scottsburg: Bedford Holiday Tournament 12/30 vs Bedford
Hayden Cutter Hayden Cutter 6'4" | PF Scottsburg | 2022 State IN – 6’3 2022 PF: Cutter is a big and strong power forward. He was very dominant this game. Battled inside a ton and got pretty much anything he wanted when he posted up. Does a real good job with drawing contact and getting to the line. Does seem to have an okay outside shot but it is not really his game to shoot it like that. He ended up with 20 points and was for sure the best big this game.
Treyton Owens – 6’1 2021 PG: Owens is a shorter but strong guard. Plays more like a combo guard but is more likely to stick at lead guard at the next level. Good IQ and handles the ball well. Real solid shooter from behind the arc, especially off the pullup. He ended up being the leading scorer this game with 21 points.
Milan: Bedford Holiday Tournament 12/30 vs Castle
Carysn Ascherman – 6’4 2021 SF: Ascherman is a big forward with a soft touch. Can play a little bit of everywhere on the offense and does a good job with mixing it up. Really like his post play as he makes good moves with his back to the basket. Solid jumper and is one of those bigs that can stretch the floor a bit. Good rebounder as well. Solid game for Ascherman here and is going to be one of the main guys for Milan for the rest of the year.
Peyton Wert – 6’1 2021 PG/SG: Wert is a smaller combo guard with some good court vision. Smart player and is real patient with his playing style. Real smart both offensively and defensively. He is real solid on the drive and has a pretty good pull-up jumper with a great release. Smooth jumper with a quick enough release. Needs to add some more strength but his smarts alone give him some good upside.
Castle: Bedford Holiday Tournament 12/30 vs Milan
Isaiah Swope Isaiah Swope 5'10" | PG Castle | 2021 State IN – 5’10 2021 PG: Swope was the best player on the court this game. He is a shorter lead guard that has quickness to keep up with anyone on the floor. Really flashy and dynamic with the ball in his hands. His jumper was a little off this game but he was able to have success on the drive. Defensively he plays extremely tough and physical. Already has a few offers and is on track to have his best season of his high school career.
Robert Nunge Robert Nunge 6'5" | SF Castle | 2021 State IN – 6’5 2021 SF: Nunge is a taller wing that can mix it up a bit. Solid shooter from the outside with a good release on his shot. His long arms do not only help him with a high release but also translates well on the defensive end. Solid aggressiveness when he plays in the inside. Love the way he plays because he does not do anything wild as he plays calm and smart. Solid game from Nunge here.
