Lets begin with some of the Seniors that performed at a high level on Saturday from around the state.
Rolesville HS Senior Guard Donavon Martin is a solid looking prospect at about 6’3 with a long wingspan and nice athleticism. Throughout their matchup with Millbrook, he got into the paint at a high rate and made the correct play for the most part. What I really liked was the fact that even when he was on the bench at times, he stay engaged and communicated with his team.
Millbrook HS Senior Guard Chris Daniels Chris Daniels 6'1" | PG Millbrook | 2021 State NC had a career day, finishing with a career high of 18 Points, showcasing his ability to score the ball. Attacking the basket, as well as knocking down shots from midrange, he had a solid overall showing and will be one to keep an eye on.
We know that you’re probably tired of hearing his name but there is no way around it, Farmville Central Guard Terquavion Smith Terquavion Smith 6'3" | CG Farmville Central | 2021 State #105 Nation NC has been playing some outstanding basketball to start the season. In their matchup with South Granville on Saturday he was impressive, especially in the first quarter, going for 15 points in that period alone and finishing with a game high of 33 Points.
Louisville fans should be excited about what they have on the way with South Granville Guard Bobby Pettiford Bobby Pettiford 6'1" | PG South Granville | 2021 State #115 Nation NC already signed. Saturday was our first opportunity to see him officially for his senior season and you can tell he’s put in a nice amount of time on his game in the offseason. His outside shot is more consistent and his IQ for the game was impressive, he didn’t try to force plays but instead set teammates up for buckets until he was able to get going scoring the ball.
Another player that will be suiting up for the Louisville Cardinals next season will be Millbrook HS Forward Eric Van Der Heijden Eric Van Der Heijden 6'9" | SF Millbrook | 2021 State #235 Nation NC who saw his stock rise in a very nice way before he made his commitment. The 6’9 Forward helped his team get off to a nice start in their matchup with Rolesville, finding his offensive rhythm early on, finishing with 18 Points & 12 Rebounds on the day.
Last but not least we have to show some love to Moravian Prep Senior Forward BJ Freeman who went for 30 Points in their matchup with Shining Light Academy. Freeman is arguably the best available player left in the state and has continued his outstanding play this season after an All-State season last year at Clayton HS.
