Terry Brown really caught my eye with his versatility. Brown took over during stretches of the second half with his ability to score inside and out. He was tough to defend in the low post, using nice footwork to craft buckets. Brown could finish at the rim and used his shooting touch to score on a turnaround. He hit a few mid-range jumpers and displayed enough ball skills to take his man off the dribble. Terry has the skillset to play 1-4 and could really thrive on a team that likes to play small ball. Brown must extend his range to three-point line to reach his offensive potential, but even if he doesn’t, he’s still a jack of all trades that can help in a variety of ways. He finished with 15 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal and 1 block vs. Langston Hughes.
2022 6-8 W Kaleb Banks Kaleb Banks 6'8" | SF Fayette County | 2022 State #98 Nation GA – Fayette County
The blowup of Kaleb Banks Kaleb Banks 6'8" | SF Fayette County | 2022 State #98 Nation GA is not just a flash in the pan. The 6-foot-8 wing is having a tremendous season and can do it all on the hardwood. Banks handles like a guard and can get to the basket where he has the size and athleticism to finish over defenders. He’s got three-point range and can simply shoot over the defense even when there is a hand in his face. Banks is a smooth operator that creates his own offense. Defensively, Banks is a strong rebounder and can swallow up smaller perimeter players. Banks will continue to climb in the 2022 class and could be a potential All-American candidate by the time he’s a senior.
2021 6-4 F Cardell Bailey – Fayette County
Cardell Bailey brings energy and athleticism to the Fayette County frontline. He runs the floor well and seeks out rebounds. Bailey is capable of collecting putback dunks, using his length and bounce to clean up misses. He’s most effective in the paint and could be a late bloomer that colleges may want to check in on.
2022 6-0 PG Kobe Davis Kobe Davis 6'0" | PG Langston Hughes | 2022 State GA – Langston Hughes
It was the best I’ve ever seen Kobe Davis Kobe Davis 6'0" | PG Langston Hughes | 2022 State GA in Langston Hughes’ thrilling 59-57 win over Fayette County. Davis, who has been a pass-first point guard over his first two seasons, is now one of the top scoring options for Coach Rory Welsh. Davis had his gear stuck in attack mode as he peppered the Tigers in a variety of ways. The lefty hit two threes but most impressive was his shiftiness and ability to score in traffic. Davis broke out floaters, scoop shots and impossible reverse layups to score against Fayette County’s length. He had everything working, staying aggressive. Davis was a blur with the ball in his hands and could go coast-to-coast, leaving defenders in the dust with his in-and-out hesitation dribble. He piled in 28 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 steals.
2022 6-5 W Elijah Walden Elijah Walden 6'5" | SF Solid Rock Academy | 2022 State GA – Langston Hughes
The game-winning bucket came via Elijah Walden Elijah Walden 6'5" | SF Solid Rock Academy | 2022 State GA as time expired on a layup. Walden had a solid game, producing 13 points, 8 rebounds and 1 block. He’s a sizeable wing that can make plays off the bounce. He hit a pull-up jumper and was able to get all the way to the rim. Extending his outside range will help open up his game more.
