Conference play is well underway at this point in January and many teams are beginning to hit their stride as they head into February. Games are becoming much closer scoring wise, and some teams are really beginning to make a name for themselves as they rise in the state rankings. March is nearly in sight and many teams know that they must compete really well in conference play if they want a shot at making an appearance at the state tournament. Meridian vs. Kuna: Meridian remained undefeated with a deciding 37-point victory over Kuna. This 5A SIC matchup featured a lot of offense from the Meridian Warriors and bully ball from Brody RowburyBrodyRowbury6'11" | CMeridian | 2021StateID who finished with 22 points. Kuna could never overcome a first quarter deficit and had no answer for Meridian’s size or athleticism across the board. Meridian looks like a really solid team at the moment and will look to use that momentum as they continue their way through the 5A SIC. Victory Charter vs. Liberty Charter: In a matchup of charter school’s with nouns for names, Victory Charter was able to live up to their name and achieve the victory. Although many of us would also love to have liberty, Liberty Charter fought hard but was unable to overcome Victory Charter’s offensive firepower for the entirety of the game. This 1A WIC battle showed the high level of play that is found all over the state, no matter the size of the competing schools.
