These teams are filling their games and creating some matchups many thought would never take place. Let’s take a look at some of the latest games from Idaho Falls Metro.
Pocatello vs Highland

Soda Springs vs Marsh Valley

2A Soda Springs overcame an early deficit and outscored the 3A Eagles 39-25 in the second and third quarters. Brittan Bergholm led all scorers with 23 while Marsh Valley’s Stanton Howell, another impressive local guard, netted 17 points.
Soda Springs Head Coach Greg Bergholm runs an offense not replicated by many in high school basketball — the high-low scheme. Basically, the two forwards on the floor just flip-flop from the block and the top of the key. One goes up to set a screen, the other trickles down to the baseline. One drives to the lane, the other backs out to the 3-point line. Rinse. Repeat.
Preston vs Blackfoot
Preston was able to complete a season sweep over Blackfoot led behind Cole Harris who finished with 19 points and Gabe Hammons added 17 for Preston. Preston went on to pull away late and win 72-61.
Ja’Vonte King Ja’Vonte King 6'3" | SF Blackfoot | 2023 State ID for Blackfoot led all scorers with 23 points. King is a dynamic sophomore forward who is a pure scorer. His ability to play multiple positions for Blackfoot allows him to score in a variety of ways. He has the strength to double-clutch mid-range jumpers. He can attack the rim with an unmatched velocity.
