Cam LaPierre – Middleboro High School – C – Sr
LaPierre was a monster on the glass during Fridays down to the wire win vs. Abington. A player who does all the dirty work, LaPierre finished with 12 rebounds on the game. Nine of those coming in the first half as he played a huge role limiting star Abington Forward Matt Mcguire from dominating the glass. The physical senior opened up the floor for the Middleboro guards and wings with bone-crushing screens that helped leading scorer Wes James get into his offensive rhythm. Cam LaPierre did not score a point this game but found other ways to contribute to a big win.
Kurtis Lucas Summers – Abington High School – G – Jr
Summers is a defensive specialist who came off the bench and provided a massive spark for Abington. The off-guard will defend positions 1-4 on the court and battle underneath for rebounds. He held his assignments to 5 points on 2 for 6 (33%) shooting and was in his opponent’s shorts all night. He also was valuable in giving Abington multiple offensive possessions as he controlled 5 offensive rebounds. Though undersized, Summers has no problem battling amongst the trees in the paint fighting for rebounds, pulling down a total of 10 to go along with 6 points.
Evans Appiah – Randolph High School – F – Jr
Appiah is the perfect big man for the fast-paced Randolph team. A team looking to fly after their opponents miss a shot, Appiah cleans up the glass well. Finishing with 10 rebounds (4 offensive) in a blowout win vs. Mashpee, the junior big was an absolute force tracking down boards. Often, with tall, athletic forwards, they rely solely on their physical gifts to get rebounds but not Appiah. Even in the Blue Devils 2-3 zone, when a shot went up, he would try to find a body to box out before going after the rebound. Not much of a scorer on offense, Appiah did an excellent job getting to the high post and hitting the opposite corner with a crisp pass for three-point shots when Mashpee decided to go zone.
