Emerging Prospects: Sophomores Pt. 2

These sophomores have made a major impact for their respective teams this season.

5-10 PG Shannon Fountain – Westside-Macon

A terrific motor helps make Shannon Fountain an impact maker. He can play with blinding speed and will get even better as he learns to change speeds. He’s a playmaker with the ball, able to slash into the lane and finish in traffic while still taking the time to kick out to shooters. His quickness on defense frustrates opposing ball handlers. Crafting a consistent three-point shot will help bring Fountain’s game to the next level. He’s averaging 17.5 points, 5 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 2.6 steals.

6-5 W Lamariyon Jordan Lamariyon Jordan 6'5" | SF Dacula | 2023 State #111 Nation GA – Dacula

Mari Jordan has taken the reins at Dacula and has been a standout since his freshman year. He’s wiry and long, making him a great defender that can stop multiple positions. Jordan is a well-rounded offensive threat. He can drive hard to the basket and finish in a crowd, but it’s his three-point shot that really keeps defenses off balance. He’s shooting 41% (22-54) from deep to start the year and is averaing 16.5 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.4 blocks.
