Players make plays, but the opposing coach has to give his players the scouting report to put them in their best situations. These six players either have tremendous quickness or power that makes them hard to stop. But to go with those qualities they have a high level skill set.
Brandon Williams Brandon Williams 6'8" | SF Christ The King | 2023 State #121 Nation NY 6”7. 2023. Christ The King Hs
Tremendous talent. Now 6”7, might still have room for growth (6”9). A very impressive list of suitors, LSU and TCU were in early. Joining them now is Illinois, Kansas State, and Bryant. He can score with finesse and either hand around the rim. But also can mix it up inside. Excellent handle for his growing size. Can put it on the floor and shoot it or flush it. Still learning all the aspects of the game but with his sheer talent, he will learn quickly.
Matt Garside Matt Garside 6'2" | SG Kings Park | 2023 State NY . 5”9. 2023. Iona Prep Hs
From his first appearance on the varsity in a playoff game everyone knew this was a special player. As a freshman in that game, he scored 26 and dished out 9 assists. Tough and fearless. Great skillset. Can stroke it. Nice pull-up game as well. Court vision and IQ way beyond his years. Needs to get stronger which will come as he matures physically. College programs need to get on him quick.
Tobe Awaka 6”7. 2022. Cardinal Hayes HS
Back in August on this site, Tobe was #5 in the CHSAA. It’s one thing to have your coach sing your praise but it’s a whole new ballgame when every coach in the city praises a player. That’s what happened with this young man. So college programs need to get involved. Real nice touch and rotation on his shot. Comes out of the hand clean. Team’s leading rebounder. Working on getting to the rim more. High academic D1 schools would be wise to get involved.
Jacob Cummiskey Jacob Cummiskey 6'3" | CG Central Bucks East | 2024 State PA . 6”2. 2023. Molloy HS
Nice size on this pass-first lead guard. Can also play off guard because of his scoring prowess. Can flat out light it up. An old school player. Great court vision and awareness and a savvy mindset for the game. Took to the varsity speed and athleticism very quickly and continues to evolve. All-state team player 2020.
Jonathan Medley. 6”5. 2022. St. Francis Prep HS
All city player. A double-double player. Physically strong.Tremendous rebounder on both ends. Rebounds in traffic. A rim protector. Surprised opposing team’s late in the season hitting threes. This could add to his already evolving game. Needs to improve using his off-hand.
Shaun Fulcher 6”0. 2021. Xaverian HS
Offers in hand from Manhattan, St. Peters, and Marist. A dynamic point guard. Really good court vision. Excellent competitor and leader. Exceptional ball handler. Strong with the ball in his hands. The mid-range and pull-up game is deadly. Looking to expand his range.
