An event organized to allow players and teams that aren’t able to play in their season yet, the event was live steamed for fans and college coaches, and had some very memorable performances throughout the day.
Here’s a look at part one of the 2021 standouts, featuring 7 players in the morning sessions that really stood out.

Omari Deveaux Omari Deveaux 5'10" | PG Douglas Freeman | 2021 State VA | 5’11” PG | M22
DeVeaux showed why he is one of the most slept upon available point guards in the state, as he is a guy who is always in control and always able to make plays. One of his most impressive moments was when his team was down 10 with around 4 minutes to go against Blue Magic, DeVeaux rang off 8 straight points and forced a few turnovers to get his team back within 2, and while they ended up losing the game it was that type of play that shows his grit and winning attitude. He’s a guy who is smooth off the bounce, can score it and make plays for others and is a natural born leader as well.
Kahihl Venable | 5’9” PG | CBG East
Venable continues to impress this fall and winter, as he isn’t the biggest or most talented guy on his team but he’s a great role player who makes winning plays on both ends for his team. He brings it and is competitive, he always seems to step up down the stretch in close games and he can make shots from deep and score it in bunches. He’s a great kid and a hard worker who has improved a lot over the past few years, and he’s a rock at the point guard spot and can move off the ball to make shots as well.
Caleb Kenney Caleb Kenney 6'6" | PF Douglas Freeman | 2021 State VA | 6’6” F | Blue Magic
Kenney was a guy who was under the radar for far too long, and after playing with Team Assist in the CBG Fall Series he picked up multiple offers and eventually committed to Holy Cross. He has since been playing with Blue Magic in a national schedule and he has scouts and reporters raving over the steal that Holy Cross got in him. A versatile forward on both ends, Kenney was fantastic as he scored the ball in a multitude of ways, he rebounded well on both ends of the floor and he’s a terrific defender who is a great shot blocker at his size.
Dana Woodley Dana Woodley 6'4" | SG John Marshall | 2021 State VA | 6’4” WG | Blue Magic
Woodley continues to show why he’s one of the top available wings in VA, as he showed all of the tools on both ends in helping Blue Magic go 2-0 in two very close games this past weekend. The 6’4” wing is an explosive athlete who plays way above the rim and provides great energy with his ability to force turnovers and bring the house down with his above the rim style of play. He can make shots from deep when he’s set, he can handle it in transition and his rate of improvement bolds really well for his ceiling moving forward.
Jakari Wilkins Jakari Wilkins 5'9" | PG Williamsburg Christian | 2021 State VA | 5’9” PG | Circle Sports
Wilkins, an under the radar guard from Williamsburg Christian, came to the CBG Winter Series and put himself on the map with his terrific and consistent play in games against two talented teams in Blue Magic and CBG East. A lightning quick guard that’s shifty off the bounce, Wilkins is a guy who is so tough to contain as he’s able to change speeds and change directions at will, and once he’s able to beat his man off the bounce he’s able to score it in the midrange and find others and make plays as well. He was one of the top scorers in the event at 16.5 points per game in two games, and was a constant playmaker on both ends of the floor.
Eric Washington Eric Washington 6'4" | PF Hermitage | 2021 State VA | 6’3” PF | Circle Sports
Washington is an undersized big man that you have to love because he’s just so physical and productive when he gets his opportunities. He’s very mobile for his size so he’s quick in the post and able to run the floor with his guards, he uses his size to clear out space and finish in the paint and he consistently rebounds over taller players and protects the paint. He’d be a great find for a small school that’s looking for some size and physicality in the paint.
Garrett Cox Garrett Cox 6'6" | SG Glen Allen | 2021 State VA | 6’5” WF | CBG Select
Hood College (D3 MD) got an absolute steal in Cox, and he showed that in the Winter Series as he brought it big time against two talented teams out of DC. The 6’5” wing was phenomenal as he understood his role, picked his spots and did a little bit of everything to help his team win. A natural shooter with good size, Cox can fill it up in bunches and brings all the blue collar work you like with some versatility as well.
